Add this to the list of parties that I have been unbelievably late for.
This album is fucking phenomenal and yet it sticks in my head mostly because Spinal Meningitis scared the absolute shit out of me growing up.
This was, if memory serves, one of the first Ween records I heard - so there is a tremendous amount of nostalgia tied up in it. I think it holds up though, honestly.
While it probably shouldn't be your first foray into the world of Ween, there is something really special about this.
Its kind of amazing to see a band have such a clear sense of themselves even this early in their career.
Does he sound like Gene Belcher? Yes.
Is that ALL I can hear? Yes.
Does this album absolutely whip ass? Yes.
'eyyyyy the anti-semite is back to make some utter fucking trash with some utter fucking trash.

Fuck Kanye West.
Fuck antisemitism.
Fuck you if you support him.

An absolute fucking stunner of a thing, which the added bonafides of having been ... read more
No fucking question about it, Zulu’s A New Tomorrow is AOTY material all over. It goes fucking hard, and it is a stunning work of art from a band that needs to be on everyone’s radar if they’re not already.
Honesty, more of the same from Quest for Fire but loses points for not having a track with Missy Elliot on it.
100% of me was ready to write this off as "not for me" but honestly, that "OH MY GOD" sample in the beginning triggered some kind of nostalgia response in me and I was in. It's fun as hell.
So listen, I was going to write a full review back in September, because honestly Callous Daoboys are something special, and Celebrity Therapist absolutely fucking bangs. HOWEVER, this album had already been talked and hyped to death, so I will just say this: the thing lives up to the hype, and I fucking love it. There’s a real nostalgic feeling here too, growing up on mathcore, this beauty does take me back, while still feeling like something wholly new and exciting.
