How in the actual fuck have they managed to make two of their best albums, this and Firepower so late in their careers?! The riffs and drum parts are as good as it gets for Judas Priest and god his vocals are so good still. Impressive that a band as legendary as Priest just keep adding to their legacy to this day. 8.5/10 overall in my opinion
Hot take time, this is their best album. Icky Thump manages to blend multiple sounds and genres used in their previous work while expanding and exploring new concepts in a way I personally think worked amazingly well. Easily my favorite Slayer album and a thrash masterpiece. I just finished what's probably around my 10th full listen and I'm still finding new things to love about pretty much every track. Songs like Dead Skin Mask and Skeletons of Society genuinely nail the imagery and atmosphere they go for and that's pretty much the story of everything in this album. 10/10 and a must listen
