Gorgeous production from front to back. How To Pretend is quite literally his best song.
This is a really fun concept Tyler album. When I heard the first 3 tracks, I thought this album will be overrated. But after going through the whole thing, it actually got better with multiple bangers. Production was solid but i don’t like the mixing sometimes. One of the best albums from this year so far and currently ranked as my #2 in Hip Hop for this year. I really liked the post punk influence in here and I’ve seen this genre being influenced in some more recent hip hop albums, and most of them turned out to be really good albums. From the 5 projects that I’ve listened from him, I can tell that A$AP Rocky is just one of the most consistent artist in hip hop. This album is definitely less exerperimental than ‘TESTING’ which is the earlier one from this. The production was easily better than the last one and also gives out a more cloudier vibe as well. Going into this, I thought this album was gonna be eh. But, this is actually a really good album. His vocals were really good, The production was solid and really catchy throughout. Probably one of the best produced album from an underground rapper this year.
