On almost every front, Quadeca delivered expectations and, somewhat, at least to me, exceeded them. The orchestration paints a vivid tapestry of exploration, self-discovery, the aching feeling of losing your way, chasing the heat haze, and something that can only be described as truly larger than life. Words can't describe what this album did to me. I'm of the belief Hayter makes some of the most emotionally distorted and resonant music of our generation. Uncomfortably honest in its process of healing through means of religious salvation as its mouthpiece
An incredible, refreshing outpouring of musicality that not only maintains its regional identity throughout the album despite finding some of its influences in the American jazz scene, it elevates it. I surprisingly don't have much to say about this album. Honestly, much of what needs to be said, is said by the album itself. I knew Maruja's first album would be incredible --- I would have been a fool to imagine any other reality. Man, this album was cathartic, hopeful in a fashion that does not glaze over or overlook what's right in front of us; often it carves out the listener with its harsh, confrontational instrumentation and lyricism only to reshape you in this uniformity ... read more
