One time, my piano teacher asked me if I listen to classical music. Immediately, this album popped up in my mind and I said yes.
my 400th rating, let's goooooo!
It was the perfect most wholesome feel-good album to start my day, from its light upbeat citypop instrumentals and simple cutesy lyrics that come off as juvenile in the best way possible. I love when music artists use bilingualism to their advantage, as perfectly expressed hear with Sarah's vocals, and I need more of that in my life. This album heals my inner child. :D
This is insanely messy. Actually fuck “messy”, this is like if a million rainbow-coloured meteors obliterated the Earth (in a good way).
Mahōgakkō is uhh—I don’t know, MAGICAL?! It’s chaotic as shit but not in the way where it’s obnoxious (though some may view it as so). The sounds are what make it stand out so well, as they are loaded to the brim with cutesy glitch effects and pure ear candy, “The Blossom and the Thunder” being the perfect ... read more

Man, this got me realizing how much I’m sleeping on Turkish pop. I’m definitely not familiar with the genre but I still wanted to review this album for how hella fun it is!
Oh Oh is easily the best track, it’s fun, it’s captivating, and greatly captures what to expect for the rest of the record. There’s lots of variety within the upbeat songs’ instrumentals, keeping everything all the more engaging and almost surprising (either ... read more
About time I listen to the same artist who made “BOOM CLAP” LIKE OMG THIS WOMAN MADE MY CHILDHOOD?!
But hey, that song’s old as shit, let’s focus on the present day with BRAT, filled with upbeat tunes that could get a dead dude jamming and raving. I really vibe with the fun sparkly ear candy of the album, as simplistic as it is compared to other electropop lovelies. All contrasting to these lyrics where Charli gets quite real and vulnerable, especially in “So ... read more
Yeah, this one’s their best album. If I’m gonna describe their first album, Sick Day as “fun”, then this one transcends beyond fun.
I loooove the guitar tone, it’s a lot more new wave(?) than in Sick Day. The songs are even catchier with the banger opener of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, DP River Water, and 9 ********* Judges, all of which I wanna scream and go batshit insane at in a punk club. (Just imagine this freaking teenage loser (me) singing “TURTLE ... read more
You know when you find a band so underground, it feels like your tiny little secret or imaginary friend? Yeah, that’s Afterbirth Cartoons for me, I need to show these guys some love!
If you just want pure rebellious punk action, you’ll definitely wanna check this band out. Sick Day contains a great combination of songs with similarly catchy hooks and calmer stoner rock reminiscent tunes. The sound contains a very expectedly crunchy guitar along with two kickass vocalists, albeit ... read more
Wow.
Holy wow.
I’ve literally never heard about SOPHIE until just now and I’m already so devastated she’s not here anymore.
In OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES, we’ve got a spectacular soundscape full of twists and turns. One second you’re encapsulated by the mesmerizing ambient noises, the next second you’re in an intense rave with lasers and chaotic flashing lights as far as the eye can see (Idk, I’ve never been to one). The latter songs did give ... read more
This album just unironically feels like home.
After some good laidback songs that don’t really stick out in the larger midwest emo space, Origami Angel (Gami) was like “you know what? Let’s make an album and casually have it be our magnum opus.”
Said magnum opus, Somewhere City, pushed the band into a more fast-paced math rock direction compared to the sort of lazy melancholy of their first few EPs like Quiet Hours. Both Ryland Heagy and Pat Doherty are practically ... read more
Kendrick knew “A MINORRRR” will go down through generations in music history and I’ll be proud to say I was there to see it.
Queen is the most underrated band of all time.
All jokes aside though, I wanna hear more praise on ‘39, Bohemian Rhapsody is amazing and all but ‘39 rips my heart to freaking pieces.
Aah yes, the first ever album I’ve listened to from start to finish.
I have very fond memories of hearing The End. immediately transition to Dead! and because I’ve never heard anything like that, it blew my mind. The same could be said for this whole album in general. The guitars, the screaming, all the feels packed into these songs made my ears lose their virginity.
And that’s how My Chemical Romance ruined my social life.
