This is one of those albums that sounds almost exactly like the cover, it’s colorful, upbeat, and overall a fun listen (except for the end of Only Acting and Rest Stop, which are really strange and unsettling for some reason).
House music has been on a crazy run ever since the Bible (I Love My Computer) dropped last year.
It didn’t even process for me that this was made in 1978 until I actually looked at the year, like, this feels and sounds so much more recent to me. It’s a beautiful album regardless though.
Do you guy$ think the gimmick where you u$e whatever $ymbol that the album u$e$ in the review is $till cool, or nah?
This might be the most mid album I’ve ever heard, like, I feel absolutely nothing while listening to this. It’s not bad or good, it’s just there.
One of my friend's has been putting me on some peak songs since he likes Jojo's and there's a bunch of music references in it.
I know everyone says this all the time, but this time it actually makes sense to say it: how the actual fuck is this JPEGMAFIA? Like, this is some of the most beautiful (and depressing) sounding music I've heard, and it just so happens to be made by the same guy who made STH and OFFLINE!.
This is the first Thundercat album I’ve listened to fully, and I think I need to listen to more. There are moments in this album that are psychedelic, but more or less, this album is very soothing to me.
I’m pretty sure this is the first prog folk album I’ve listened to, and boy howdy do I need to listen to more. The unpredictable nature of this album is truly what gets me, because it’ll go from the most beautiful music you’ve ever heard to complete silence, with the occasional muted guitar.
Danny Brown does a complete 180 with his sound on this album, especially coming right after STH, which is easily his (and Peggy’s) wildest album.
