There's some potential, but still really mixed
I really like these songs structurally, they're really cool, but man, the sound of this album is so dime a dozen that it gets stale quick. Overall it just alright and most of it sludges into itself outside of a few good tracks.
Overall score: 57/100
Fav tracks: nothing grows, overrated life
Least fav: modern medecin
Real raw for showcase
Ah yes, shoegaze, a genre that i have incredibly mixed feelings towards. As i am a sound hound who absolutely adores noise, for some reason shoegaze never really connected with me much at all. Kittie, a pretty notable band within the early 2000s Nu-Metal scene, their debut ranks as one of the more influential albums in the genre with its mix of groove metal, post-hardcore, Nu Metal and shoegaze. Ah yes MGK, rapper turned pop punker after being absolutely humiliated by Eminem, he seems to be making a short return to his hip hop stuff and I'll say, it's ATROCIOUS. Already I knew this was going to be bad, I mean for Christ sake it's the same guy who made "Emo Girl" and Jesus Christ if that song isn't already a sin on everything that is wholly and that involves a fucking guitar then I don't know what is.
The sounds is ass, it's generic as hell, so ... read more
SOLID POP PUNK
I really love pop punk, even some of the shitty stuff from this era, so I was curious about sum 41 having heard “Fat Lip” and “Hell Song” and really enjoying it. The band’s infectious energy and knack for hooks was something that really drew me in, and I gotta say I’m pretty impressed by how good this is.
To start off love the sound, it’s clean but really punchy, it hits hard. The band knows how to write catchy riffs and they use that ... read more
