Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
97

Igor is one of the greatest albums ever made. It is one of the most unique, emotional, impactful experiences ever conceived by human kind. Every single track is unique and great in it's own way. This is gonna be a long review so strap in.
1. The story: As is tradition for Tyler's records, there is a story attached to the album, but unlike some of his other records such as Goblin or even Wolf, the story is at the forefront. This is a breakup album, and every single track represents a ... read more

The Strokes - The New Abnormal
80

After the disappointing "Comedown Machine", The Strokes return from their 7 years hiatus with an intricate, layered album that, while short, does not skip a single beat. The hypnotic guitars and fuzzy synths pair up Casablancas' hush vocals, creating an energetic, adolescent sound that carries on through every track.
Remaining mostly consistent, the album dips in quality only on "Eternal Summer" which, while not at all bad, just drags on for a bit too long in my ... read more

twenty one pilots - Clancy
78

Not really a bunch to say here, "Clancy" is a, pretty good, but straightforward pop-rock album. That's not a bad thing at all, but it does make this review kinda boring doesn't it? I mean there's not really anything to analyze here, unless we get into the Twenty One Pilots lore, which I will choose not to, but there's not really anything to critique either. One thing I'll say is I like the balance between energetic tracks like "Navigating", ... read more

Paramore - This Is Why
90

This is the album that kick-started my passion for listening to and reviewing LPs and for this reason it's got a very special place in my heart. Bias aside tho, this is an absolutely incredible record. Paramore's sound has evolved over the years and this project shows a polished, mature version of the Paramore we all know and love. For the tracklist, this record goes with quality over quantity, with 10 polished tracks that amount for a mere 36 minutes of runtime. This makes "This ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
95

"Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd" is one of the most ethereal albums out there. It is Lana at her peak. Gone are the days of her americana, gangster persona, instead this album is a relaxing, piano driven and sometimes melancholic work of art that explores Lana's most personal thoughts and struggles.
The opening track, "The Grants" perfectly encapsulates the main themes of this record, those being family, love, and God. Don't get the wrong ... read more

Darren Korb - Hades: Original Soundtrack
85

A beautiful soundtrack that accompanies a beautiful game. Every emotion that you will feel while playing "Hades" is amplified by the music playing in the background, from the energetic, guitar and drums filled dungeon themes like "Out of Tartarus" and "The Exalted", to the emotional, sung tracks like "Good Riddance" and "In the Blood". And to make all of this even more incredible than it already is, it's almost entirely done by one person, ... read more

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
96

*: This is no longer my favorite album ever

This is my favorite album ever*. In my eyes this is a perfect record, and it's crazy to think that when this came out it was considered a flop. Humanity just wasn't ready for music THIS good. I'm gonna structure this review cuz it's probably gonna be pretty long so strap in.
1. The backstory: Gorillaz didn't want this. This album is not at all what we were supposed to get. Back in 2008, fresh off the success of "Demon ... read more
