Not a lot to say on this one. I like Zac, I think he's very talented and, for a debut album, this is not bad at all, it's just that it's not really that great either. I'm excited to see more projects from him tho, there's a lot of potential here.
Favorite tracks: "1", "My My", "I need You", "Gold Days"
Least favorite: "Sunday Driving"
I don't like being negative...
This is not a good record, not because it's "different" from Parker's other works, but because it feels unfinished, it sounds more like a collection of demos than an actual album. The only good song on here is "Dracula", with the rest varying between mildly uninteresting to incredibly boring. If you genuinely enjoy this record, great! No one is saying you can't enjoy it, but please, don't try to convince everyone else ... read more
I was always aware of the Kali Uchis hype, I knew her most popular songs like "Telepatia" and "Moonlight" and for the most part I liked what I would hear from her. Of course, she's pretty well known for collaborating with my favorite artist, Tyler, The Creator, and I like the songs they have together. All that said, for some reason, I could never bring myself to listen to a full record from her; up until now.
"Sincerely," sees Kali take a deep dive into her ... read more
"Breach" sees Twenty One Pilots arrive at the culmination of all their prior work, not only lore wise, as this is album gives an end to the Dema story-line, which began 10 years ago with the release of "Blurryface", but also music wise, the project blending the emotion and rawness of their early works with production akin to their newer releases like "Trench" or "Clancy".
Unlike it's predecessors, which I would consider mainly alt-pop with maybe some ... read more
"Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party" sounds like an existential crisis: loud, harsh, with lyrics that, at times, feel like Hayley Williams's stream of consciousness. This might sound like I'm hating but quite the opposite, I love this project.
Being made up of 18 tracks it's understandable that not all of them are winners, that said I was surprised at just how few of the songs I didn't love. There's not any song that feels like it doesn't belong or that it ... read more
I'll be honest, I didn't get the hype behind this record until I was on like my 10th spin with it, and I think that's mostly because I was sitting still while listening to it. While "Love Deluxe" is not at all a dance record, it does make you move, so please, if you're going to give it a try (which I encourage you to do) let your body move freely. I am being very serious when I say that it actually makes a difference in your enjoyment of the album.

Despite the constant hate that Coldplay seems to get, at times for no apparent reason, their first record "Parachutes" is actually generally considered to be quite good, and I have to say that I mostly agree. Sure there are still some flaws: the lyrics are a bit hollow, some of the songs go on for a bit too long, and most of the tracks just kinda sound the same, but overall this album serves for a pretty good first impression and it's also just a good alt / dream rock ... read more
You don't need me to tell you that "To Pimp a Butterfly" is a masterpiece. Everything about this album is polished to perfection: the flow, the beats, the symbolism, the features, everything. This is the kind of project that will never feel dated, people will sing it's praises 50 years from now, using it as a reason why they live in "the wrong generation".
Let's start with the sound of the record: one could describe it in short as rap fuzed with jazz, but ... read more
The surprise announcement of "DON'T TAP THE GLASS" took the world by storm, and I'd say the record more than lived up to the hype, being a great, albeit short, collection of tracks from Mr. Tyler, The Creator.
The sound and overall "vibe" of the album could be described as a mix between "Call Me If You Get Lost", "Cherry Bomb" and also a bit of "IGOR" too. Every track is an absolute banger and while Tyler always made songs you *could* ... read more

What even is there to say about this one? "Cracker Island" feels like an afterthought, it's soulless, generic, and worst of all it's just boring.
The first track, which is also the title track, is probably the best song on here, which already sets the bar incredibly low. Corny lyrics and generic instrumentals plague this record: "New Gold", "Skinny Ape", "The Tired Influencer" and so on, they almost feel AI generated. Still, ... read more

"Song Machine" might, unfortunately, go down in history as Gorillaz's last truly great album, which is kind off weird when you think about how this record came to be. What started out as an episodic web-series of Gorillaz front man, Damon Albarn, releasing new singles by collaborating with various artists during the Covid-19 pandemic, has evolved into a fully fledged studio album, due to the sheer quality of all the tracks produced.
Gorillaz albums have always been ... read more

While it's predecessor "Humanz" was criticized for experimenting too much and not really sounding like a true Gorillaz album, "The Now Now" goes the opposite direction, commiting what is, in my books, one of the biggest sins an album can commit: it's boring!!
Aside from the first three tracks which are quite ok actually, everything else just kind of blends together, none of the tracks are really memorable, and while yes, they do sound conventionally ... read more
Pretty solid! I actually used to like a couple of songs from this record when I was younger, and coming back to it, I'm happy to say that I think it holds up quite well. Don't get me wrong, it's not a storytelling, genre-bending masterpiece or anything, but for a teenage breakup album, it's pretty good. My main gripe is I would've liked to see some more depth in the tracks, as it stands they're pretty straightforward, but again, it's not trying to do that, and ... read more
"4 Your Eyez Only" shows J. Cole rapping from the perspective of his friend, James McMillan, reflecting over his life, from childhood to parenthood. He presents the struggles and the people he lost, whilst being optimistic for what's to come.
In terms of quality, while I wouldn't consider any songs to be bad, there aren't a lot of "wow" moments on this, albeit short, record. Out of the 10 tracks, the one that stands out is definitely the last track, a ... read more

After a 7 year hiatus, the makers of such classics as "Demon Days" and "Plastic Beach" finally return with a brand new project. And it is... certainly something.
While "Humanz" is not the worst album in the world, not even close, and it does actually have some solid tracks under it's belt, there are a couple of issues that hold it back from greatness. For one, the quality is all over the place, the first few tracks, up until "Charger", ... read more
While the tracks on "untitled unmastered" were deemed by Kendrick as not good enough to be put on TPAB, that doesn't mean these are bad songs, far from it.
I find this record to be very enjoyable, with a couple exceptions, namely the intro of the first track, and track 7 which starts out strong but then goes on for 8 minutes without much happening. The rest of the tracks are pretty good, they flow together really well and, while technically demos, are actually pretty polished. ... read more
"Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers" represents a masterclass in storytelling, a work of art that just so happens to portray it's story in the form of an album. Being a double LP, it's only fair to talk about each part individually.
PART 1: THE BIG STEPPERS:
The first side of the record, titled "The Big Steppers" presents Kendrick Lamar in therapy, hesitating to open up, instead deflecting his blame by talking about everybody else's flaws. Kendrick says that ... read more
One of the best records of the 2010s and maybe the best pop record of the 2010s. After a messy 4 years break with different members leaving and others rejoining, the "new" Paramore, consisting of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York, gave us a depressing, mature, emotional album wrapped in a disco, synth pop sound. At points, the record sounds close to something you'd hear in a teen's show like iCarly or High School Musical, but the quality of the material makes it ... read more

The title says it all. This is Gorillaz' fall from grace, after 3 iconic albums. I know that comparing this to Gorillaz' others isn't really fair because "ErMm ThIs WAs MaDE on aN IpAD" and if there was a contest for best album made on an iPad this record would probably win, but I have to judge this fairly and to be fair, it's just not good. It's not an unlistenable nightmare or anything, but it just feels empty, in lack of a personality. A lot ... read more

I pretty much knew almost all of the tracks in this record before going in, but still it left me quite surprised with it's story-telling capabilities and how well it paints a picture. This album feels like it was recorded right on the battlefront, of course being inspired by the, at the time, on-going Iraq war, as well as Damon's journey through the "Weird, forgotten part of China". This results in a dark, gritty, sound that is at times interrupted by some ... read more
