Take as needed for the pain shows the dirty and gritty side of addiction, but dopesick shows a different side of addiction that members of the band were going through. This side of eyehategod shows the true horror of what depression and addiction can do to a person. These songs sound like they're one note away from someone overdosing or slitting their wrists. Although a couple of songs are a step above tickets to my downfall in terms of riffs and songwriting and even one song comes very close to crossover thrash as well. However, most of the album is pretty bland in comparison. The album art is awful and the lyrical content is repetitive.
