"Raspberry Hangover Presents… Watermelon Headache" by lo-fi duo Sleighfuckers is an album of great ambition. This thing is nearly an hour and a half long and is packed to the brim with dense arrangements, winding song structures and conceptual grandiosity. Richard Dawson teams up with Finnish band Circle to take the leap into full-on prog rock he's been building towards on his previous few releases. I'm not a huge fan of prog rock to begin with, so I went into "Henki" with tempered expectations. I think this is a turn that makes a lot of sense for Dawson, but it isn't one that I personally would've liked to see. Even so, Dawson and Co. remain as talented and impressive as ever so I ended up enjoying this album quite a bit.
