Wow...I have no words to describe how I'm feeling right now.
This was genuinely such a letdown. As someone who LOVED Trench and was slightly warmer (only slightly) on Scaled and Icy than most people were, this album should have been an easy layup. The singles held so much promise, with glimpses of a return to form. A return to the musical and lyrical focus of Trench.
What we get instead is an absolute mess of a project with occasional glimpses of brilliance. The first three tracks are the ... read more
Y'know what? This wasn't half bad.
It's no secret that Pearl Jam has been on a pretty long "lull" period when compared to their 90s output. A lot of it has been really hit or miss, and personally, after hearing "Gigaton", I was left really tired and disillusioned with Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam had that fire in their stomachs again and I wanted to see ... read more
Wow!
Okay, so, funny enough, I've kept slight tabs on Ultra Q since they were still going by Mt. Eddy. Back then, the song "Chroma" was THE jam for a good while (honestly, still is). Imma be honest, it's been a few years since I've heard this album all the way through. And having listened to more music and solidifying my own musical taste, I was genuinely unsure if I was still gonna enjoy this album as much as I did back in the day. And now that I've given it another listen for the first time in years, I wonder what I was so worried about. This record is still as big and bombast as ever.
I guess my ... read more

Damn, this thing is good!
Yeah, back when I was first exploring hardcore punk (which I go a little more in depth on in my Bad Brains review), Minor Threat stood out to me quite a bit. Super energetic, insanely passionate, and surprisingly witty punk music; they became an instant favorite for me. Having come back to this record in particular only solidifies that fact for me.
This record has held up well, at least for the most part. Every song blasts off with an energy that just ... read more
