I digested this album slowly. I honestly thought it was boring and repetitive until I gave it a chance all at once in its totality. I think albums like this are really not like "albums full of songs" so much as they are soundtracks to some imaginary world or some shit like that.
For me, this album was best taken as sonic journey through some creepy imaginary landscape. Like the album's cover and like the images it conjures up, the dark tones of the album make up most of its mass. ... read more
I thought that The Agent Intellect was slightly better than this...
However, it's growing on me so... maybe I'll come back and change this.
The quirky guitar, lyrical oddballness, and disonant post-punk feels are stronger on this album. That said, it's definitely less 'catchy' than their other stuff.
Overrated as far as slowcore/shoegaze genre imo...
The songs are all simpler and less emotive than other works of similar style...
