Holy fuck this album is a roller coaster of emotions, well at least for me. Since recently AMSP has been more affecting to me than any Radiohead record. I used to think of it as third best now it is the best record they have in my opinion. Somber and depressing af
For me, this is a true kanye masterpiece. Jazz fits the best of all of kanye’s Phases of music through his albums in my opinion, he gets more emotional with it, better musically and also way better lyrically. Best kanye album and the best jazz album of all time
Yeah, we get Abel that you’re a fucking angel. He was mostly on his dream pop for the whole trilogy but this is where he mainly shows is and it’s pays off for him
It’s honestly the worst part of the trilogy of mixtapes, I still really liked it but it’s definitely the worst of them.
Idgaf, this is the best of the three mixtapes. It has my absolute favorite Abel song in the birds pt.2 and people hate on this shit way too much
This is definitely a improvement for a lot of things in X, he improved his singing and lyrical ability. This showed potential in him and this is when I really started seeing something in him other than a regular SoundCloud rapper, he had multiple skills that he tried to perfect and he definitely did improve those skills. RIP X
This album has fell hard for me, still a great listen for me but every time I listen to it again, I want to expect more.
Super overhated, this has one of his top 3 songs. Although I can’t deny it’s flaws
This is a great album, just extremely overrated and I mean to the point where it’s quite annoying to hear any praise for this album anymore. Sure it’s a pleasing and peaceful sounding piece of music but some parts can get lackluster, it ain’t terrible but also ain’t perfect like everyone else says so.
As much as GKMC was a ride through Kendrick’s mind, this is through his conscious. Fuckin hell the pure intensity and emotion is some of favorite kendrick has done, I will not lie that this album had to grow on me because I originally had it as a 8 but I realized the art in this album, to the hard hitting emotional tracks like u to the catchy fun hopeful tracks like alright, it’s quite a roller coaster. Also, the jazz is the just cherry on the top.
In terms of how far kendrick’s artistic value can go, this is his best album to show it. As for my fourth favorite hip hop album of all time, the experience this album gives takes you on a ride through Kendrick’s childhood and the hood he grew up in. Songs like the art of peer pressure and sing about me, I’m dying of thirst show the story he can really tell behind his lyrics. These two songs both bring out Kendrick’s insecurities, fears, and how he’s pressured. A ... read more
In atrocity exhibition, we get to go into danny’s mind and find his crazy delusions, or are they crazy🤔. Here Danny talks about some personal problems he has to the world and some of them have to do with the world itself, like his drug addiction and him being laughed at when he’s really hurt. He makes such a wild, eerie, crazy, sometimes somber sounding masterpiece. Definitely one of the best albums of the 2010s and one of my favorite of all time.
My favorite album of all time, people say this album is just a movie trying to be compacted into a album of songs, I don’t find that true and I think both the musical experience and the story of this are out of this world. The presence he leaves in every track to fit the story is a genius move by him, especially songs like III.Urn where it’s supposed to sound emotional and teary while a track like III.Life:The biggest troll sounds exactly like a ending credits song. What I’m ... read more
