He really was a pioneer in putting yourself within the music. He did not shy away from that fact at all as evidenced by this masterpiece.
A deep isolating apathy such as one feels in their life before they made enough to be comfortable. The pain, lack of sleep, hopelessness that can only held back by words such as, "It will be better one day."
I find myself just utterly mesmerized by the pure creativity and poetry that radiates from this album.
Atmospheric really puts you into a wonderful trance. Love how comfortable it made me feel. It felt like I stepped into a world where houses were mushrooms.
Funky, charming, quirky album I just know James Murphy put every ounce of his soul into this. Incredibly fun to dance like you have no care in the world yet it invites massive thematic value and commentary on the 21st century. Continues to and will continue to stand the test of time as it reaches 20 years.
Love singing along to this. Fills me with nostalgia and reminds me of the innocence of my youth I am desperate to reclaim. nothing spectacular or mind blowing just ok.
Angsty, Raw, Agressive, the shit you expect to hear from a band with origins in a post industrial town and it fucking rocks.
It just doesn't sound like them. At its core, it may be a hip-hop kpop album, but Its missing what made them BTS, the authenticity of who they are as a group in their rags to riches journey. There are way too many cooks in the kitchen with this one and that makes music get lost in the sauce. Having 20+ producers and 50+ writers in one album is just not them.
