Pinned Review

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

I can't go without talking about this album. Holy shit what is there not to like about this album. Seriously. On every single level, this album is perfect. Lyrically and in terms of production, it's perfect. This is genuinely one of the best, if not, the best album I've ever heard. If you remove the lyrics from this album it will still be a perfect Jazz/funk album. Every time someone asks me about this album I think I could talk forever about how good it is. Every single detail in this album is ... read more

I've been obsessed with this man for a week and holy shit this song is so good. First of all the sample is amazing and I love the drums in this song. The bass is so satisfying as well I love how fluid it feels. It isn't overwhelming throughout the song either it's a really nice touch. I also love how the sample ties into the message of the song. That kind of sampling is one of my favorites. Idk what it is about this song I guess it just hit me at a good time. I'm excited to ... read more

A very standout Rage album in a sea of flops.

Che is a very interesting artist to me where he's always been in this sort of Rage subgenre but he's always pushed it to it's limit. The producers he works with experiment with some really cool synth sounds almost making his music sound ethereal sometimes and here it's no different. Before I was familiar with Che but after listening to this album in full I'm curious to see where he goes next.

Of course the beats on this ... read more

Maruja - Pain to Power

I wrote a pretty cool article on this album and seeing them in concert but it unfortunatly didn't get published so I wanted to share it here. Hopefully you enjoy. I like this album a lot. Very important album.

The Maruja Experience:

Maruja is an English “rock” band formed in Manchester consisting of four members: Harry Wilkinson on lead vocals and guitar, Joe Carroll on saxophone, Matt Buonaccorsi on bass, and Jacob Hayes on drums. They gained attention from their 2023 EP ... read more

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal

Bought this thing on vinyl and found a larger appreciation for it.

Cameron Winter, known for being the lead singer of Geese, releases a passionate solo project. At this point I don't even know if you could consider him most known for Geese because I've heard this album getting buzz for a while, even before Getting Killed. The Geese craze has really exploded this year and I think this is a big component of their popularity. I also feel like I've seen some weird online memes about ... read more

Sora - re.sort

I've had a long break from writing these reviews but trust me I haven't stopped listening.

Sora is someone I was very unfamiliar with until a couple days ago when I found that this album was a very big influence on Nurture by Porter Robinson. I'd say I'm a pretty big fan of that album so I decided to check this one out and I was so glad I did because this was an album I really needed.

I love all of the elements being blended here. It's very much an electronic/ambient ... read more
