The Ronettes - Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes featuring Veronica
79

Rolling Stone #494 This is a pop girl group so I assume I know what it is about but I have never heard a song from The Ronettes before so we will see I guess.

This is a very good album and has a few great songs, and I think they cement themselves as a defining girl group. These girls are so unique I feel bad for giving them less than an 80 but listening to the tracks, I just can't give this record an 80. So 79 will have to do. I don't really have much to say, this album is great but not ... read more

Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
95

I randomly found out about this band with Blister In The Sun, I really want to give this record a listen. Folk Punk is a genre I have never heard of before so I am interested to see what exactly that sounds like.

So this is what folk punk sounds like lol. This album is absolutely amazing front to back. This an entertaining and fun album with so much personality. It has a Midwest angst that has so much quirkiness, Blister in The Sun is the best song but every song was interesting and ugly in a ... read more

Boyz II Men - II
57

Rolling Stone #495 I have never heard of these guys and never heard a single song from them but I gotta review this album. I am excited to see what this album is about, it has the lowest user score out of the albums on this list though which is worrying.

I'm not very versed in R&B but I usually listen to this kind of stuff in the background. So it feels weird to review an album like this. I don't have a reference point for music like this because I don't typically pay this much attention. ... read more

Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour
84

I really like her somewhat cheesy songwriting and Butterflies and Space Cowboy are songs that I enjoy. I have to give this record a listen soon. After getting rid of any lingering feeling of happiness listening to Deathconsciousness and after being jumpscared and in general horrified by the album Suicide by Suicide, I need a happy album. Also it is funny that Fantano's review is the reason that the critic score isn't 80 lol.

So before I get into this review, I just realized that this album ... read more

Shakira - ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones?
87

ROLLING STONE #496 I like Shakira's singing style so much, but I haven't listened to any of this album at all.

From front to back this is an incredible record. I don't know much Spanish, but from what I know (with the help of google and Spanish speakers who talk about this album), this album has incredibly well written lyrics. This is entertaining at least for me. Her vocals are so weird (in a good way) and also makes me differentiate this album over other pop rock or latin rock albums. Though ... read more

The Weeknd - After Hours
84

I've kind of needed to go on a Weeknd deep dive. I have liked his music, but never really listened to a full album before.

This was a great album that I really enjoyed, however the beginning was a slow start, not bad but just slow. However Snowchild and Escape from LA were my two least favorite songs on this. However Alone Again, Heartless, Faith, Blinding Lights, Save Your Tears, In Your Eyes, and After Hours are my favorites. Overall this was a great album Abel's singing is on point as ... read more

Various Artists - The Indestructible Beat of Soweto
79

Rolling Stone #497

I initially didn't want to review this. I think compilation albums are cheating; the artist can essentially put their best songs into one album, so naturally, it is better. However, since this is not just a singular artist or band, I will review this. Rolling Stone has dubbed it “world music, " let's see how true to that moniker this album stands.

This album was a very fun album that I enjoyed. It was an inoffensively fun record, I didn't find much ... read more

Death - Symbolic
96

Symbolic is one of my favorite death metal songs. I don't really listen to much death metal but the title track is really good so I can't wait to hear the rest.

Halfway through and these motherfuckers are absolutely badass.

I listened to the whole thing and I loved this record, the instrumentation is absolutely flawless and incredible. The vocals were very fresh for the time. These guys practically invented death metal. Inventing a genre alone gets you a lot of points. This is a cohesive and ... read more

Suicide - Suicide
88

Rolling Stone #498 I have never listened to this album before or any of the tracks on this so I'm going in blind.

This album was absolutely horrifying, in a good way. The first four tracks were absolutely great, my favorite is the first track, Girl is probably the most unbearable song, it sounded as if the Guns and Roses vocalist took his weird moaning vocals, and made a narrative soundscape. It reminds me of some of the weird shit in Eminem songs. Frankie Teardrop is the best song on this ... read more

99

I like the tracks Bloodhail and Hunter. From what I've heard from this album it deserves to be in the top 500 Rolling Stones List, especially more than the Bad Bunny album. This is a philosophy album and I've never heard of an album about philosophy. I will listen to this album soon.

After listening to The Plow That Broke The Plains:
This is one of the best albums I have ever heard... I think so far it might even be better than DSOTM, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this album so much. Bloodhail, ... read more

Rufus & Chaka Khan - Ask Rufus
74

Rolling Stone #499: I haven't listened to a lick of this album so I have no real idea of what I'm getting into.

After listening to the first track: Guys... Funky soul is my weakness...

I listened to the full thing and the opening track is the strongest out of the tracks on here. I think that this is a good album, but the only thing that stopped me from making this rating below 70 was the title track. I actually liked Close the Door, but after that, the next two were snooze fests. Everlasting ... read more

Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
77

I will be reviewing this record. I like at least 3-4 songs on here before I even review this so I think this will be good. Don't Start Now, Physical, Levitating, and Break My Heart are all great songs so this album looks to be a banger.

I listened to the whole thing and the rest was almost as good as the original 4 songs. Future Nostalgia was a little weird to me when I first heard it and I'm probably not going to regularly listen to it, but it has gotten better as I've listened to it more and ... read more

Arcade Fire - Funeral
81

Rolling Stones #500 - I am going to rate every single album in the top 500 in the 2020 version of the Rolling Stone's List. If they make a new list, which it won't look like they will for a while, I am going to stick to this list until I'm done. However, I will also rate music from other musicians, due to the fact no Slipknot Album nor Panic! At The Disco Album (for obvious reasons) made this list. Rolling Stones' album list entirely omits albums like Deathconsciousness by Have a Nice Life and ... read more

Bring Me The Horizon - There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret.
82

I will give this album a listen soon, people say this is their best album and I listen to metal, but I haven't rated a full metalcore album on here yet and I wanted to start with this album since I haven't listened to it yet.

I have listened to this entire album and I enjoyed the experience, but I wouldn't say that there is a single song that made it memorable. Crucify Me, Anthem, It Never Ends, and Home Sweet Hole are some great songs. Don't Go and Alligator Blood were the only songs that I ... read more

Ariana Grande - thank u, next
60

Halfway through, this is boring as hell. I love Ariana Grande's singing but this felt so rushed and uninspired. She does try different things, but the creative "risks" that this album takes feel too calculated. This is not even good enough for pop radio, it's just uninteresting. Fantano is wild for saying this is an 80. The tracks have no replay value for me. So far Needy is the only song I would listen to regularly, hopefully, the back half can save this album.

After Full Listen: No ... read more

Chris Stapleton - Traveller
85

The country disrespect needs to stop, this is a great album and I would say it is a solid 85. Just to rant, the reviewers who say this is the only good modern country, haven't taken time to look for good country music. If you look for it you will find it. There are so many country artists that make good music, Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, Eric Church, Rat Saw God, Sturgill Simpson, and so many others are making some good music so if you are about to review this saying it is the ... read more

Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, and Something In The Way are songs that I enjoy, so I'm ready to see if this album lives up to those songs.

I liked this album a lot, I did get bored a little at certain points, but that is probably because I was expecting songs that were similar to Bleach, but this completely shocked me, in the direction it went. Now I like when Nirvana is more aggressive however this album is a masterful creation. Lounge Act, Territorial Pissings, and In Bloom are ... read more

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
98

I am going to listen to this album and I love Stevie so I bet I will like this.

Listening to the first disk is literally perfect. Village ghetto land is the worst song on this first disk, but not bad. Everything else has been perfect and I could see myself listening to Sir Duke I Wish like everyday. Also, Stevie ripped off Gangsta's Paradise, smh. Right now the rating is looking to be a 98, but it could be another 99.

After Disc 2 and A Something's Extra. This is an amazing album that I ... read more

Madvillain - Madvillainy
96

I found this album by listening to All Caps and I really like that song. I've got to know if this album is that good. I will listen to this as soon as possible.

This is simply one of the best rap projects ever made and is definitely a classic. All Caps is still one of my favorites, but Figaro, Meat Grinder, Rhinestone Cowboy, Shadows of Tomorrow, and America's Most Blunted are some new favorites I have accumulated. This was a vibe as a whole, the swagger, the delivery, and the beats were ... read more

Quadeca - I Didn't Mean to Haunt You
86

I saw this guy on YouTube through his rapper impressions. They were so accurate and funny. I am excited to listen to an album by this guy.

None of these tracks were bad at all, but I didn't really have a track that I definitively vibed with. It was good and the whole vibe and feel was good but no song in particular struck me. I wish I could say more about a specific song but I have nothing. I think house settling, sorry4dying, tell me a joke, don't mind me, born yesterday, and knots were great ... read more
