I've been procrastinating too much on this album. Sure, my last review was literally only three days ago but I have not been trying to listen to this album. There's always a problem that would stop me from reviewing 'In Rainbows' whether it be procrastination, schoolwork, playing with my friends, etc. It's currently 10:56 PM right now as I'm writing this review and I'll be writing what I think about each song. It's no doubt that I am a huge fan of Shoegaze and Noise Pop, and seeing that Parannoul made albums with both genres (also one of my friends listen to them), I knew that I had to get into the artist by starting with 'To See the Next Part of the Dream". Even after losing their lead singer Isaac Wood from his issues of mental health, the band Black Country, New Road still proves that they're one of the best (and my personal favorite) bands to ever be formed. Although I do miss Isaac and his raw, emotional vocals from "Ants From Up There", it doesn't affect my view on the band at all, and I actually really like the vocals given from May Kershaw, Georgia Ellery, and Tyler Hyde. Although I haven't really listened to any of Maruja's EPs like "Knocknarea" and "Connla's Well", this debut album of theirs have got to one of the most unique I've ever listened to. How they can make something like this be both angry and beautiful with the hard-hitting instruments and Wilkinson's emotional voice is something that I loved throughout listening. I've been hyped for this album to release ever since they had put out the single with JPEGMAFIA and when the album cover was shown for everyone to see. The cover is just great, with the disco ball having textures that look like they come from an old game console, the eyes being 'X @", the horns added onto the disco ball makes it so much better, hell even the color background makes this cover one of my favorites to come out of 2025.
