Wish You Were Here is my favorite album of all time, so I had went into this album expecting greatness. What I got is one of my favorite albums of all time, and an album that will easily place highly in my personal top ten list of all time. This is not going to be a really long review, just a really brief rundown of what I enjoyed about this lp.
Dogs is one of my personal favorite tracks of all time, and in my opinion, is the greatest written song ever. My three favorite lines EVER lie on this ... read more
Well, I may very well have a new favorite album of all time. I do say that with a grain of salt though, as obviously, I will be needing a lot of extra time to sit with this album to properly understand it and learn to appreciate its artistry.
However, throughout my two full listens of this album, and having this album almost exclusively playing on shuffle while at school, I have truly realized just how great this album is. See, Vespertine is an album that I tried to get into almost as far back ... read more
Rating this because this is the one I got, check out my OG Vanisher review for my opinions on that album
but honestly, these extra songs just make the album feel more complete. BEGGING THE WITNESS was one of my favorite songs from Vanisher as a WHOLE, so I was pretty glad when I saw that it was on my LP.
LEARNING TO SWIM is actually now on Spotify, THANKFULLY, and is another one of my favorites.
but TOUCH THE SKY is pretty easily the best song here. Would've been an OUTSTNAIND interlude ... read more
Now, I HATE Quadeca's old work. He is my favorite artist simply because of his new art. (VHS, SCRAPYARD, IDMTHY, and even SOME parts of FMTY)
But this is just a fun song. Like, Quadeca CLEARLY is not taking himself too seriously here, and the absurdity here is what makes the song fun. It is a horrible song, but it BEING horrible is what makes it good.
im kind of tired of pretending to hate this song
Voice Memos IS ass though
I am astonished.
I have never really been familiar with Black Thought, or even the roots as a collective, but I had seen this album placed very high on lists for the best rap albums (or albums in general) of 2022, or even this entire decade. And frankly, I never really shared such a sentiment. When I had first listened to it, I never liked Black Thought's rapping. I knew he was an outstanding lyricist, but he just never seemed too good of a "rapper" to be.
Yeah, no, he is an ... read more
The first part is immaculate, and it has one of the catchiest choruses I've ever heard. Kind of funky in a sense, and I really do mess with it.
Though, I will say, it does kind of drop off in the second part. The beat is less interesting, and the rapping does take a bit of a drop. Still, a fantastic song nonetheless, RIP Mac
If I ever want to fall asleep, this will be the song I put on.
The production is so unbelievably boring. Die on This Hill is just such a fucking bland song. It does nothing new.
idk how anyone likes this shit
Been hearing this song EVERYWHERE lately, and since I liked her feature on Stateside, I decided to check this out
Goodness, it is just annoying dude. The most basic rhymes known to fucking mankind, the production is bland, the entire thing is just annoying to listen to. The vocals are good tho ig
By The Time I Get To Phoenix by Injury Reserve is by far the most confusing yet concise album I have ever heard in my life.
See, when this album first dropped back in 2021, I never listened to it - as I was ‘young’ as a relative term. I didn’t listen to much music back then. But in 2024, when I had really started to listen to a LOT of music, I was just scrolling through the highest rated albums of the 2020’s decade on AOTY, and I saw By The Time I Get To Phoenix.
See, ... read more
Well, this is J. Cole's classic.
Truthfully, I have never been one to be the biggest fan of J. Cole, and I used to view him as easily the most overrated rapper. Well, he has slowly been proving me wrong with the release of singles like Port Antonio and cLOUDs among many others. And this album has also managed to top Friday Night Lights, which I used to consider to be Cole's best album.
When I first listened to this album when it dropped, I cannot say that I really enjoyed it. Two ... read more
One of my favorite songs this year, seriously lmao. this shit is a banger
A few very good songs added to my favorite album of all time, so that is pretty cool :D
LEARN TO SWIM and MELISA honestly make this track list just better Both of them were some of my favorite D-Sides (Thankfully I got the blue vinyl, so I got LEARN TO SWIM), but I do feel like it could have been better placed on the track list? Like maybe after I DREAM ABOUT SINKING, but also it would be weird for him to be learning to swim WAY after starting the journey.
MELISA kind of gives some context to ... read more
This album is simply beautiful. There are no other words to describe it.
Now, this was by far my most anticipated album of 2026, and frankly, could be one of my most anticipated albums of all time. In spite of that fact, I went to school not realizing that this album dropped, and came home not even knowing what the album was titled. Once I got the chance, I did listen to it, and I fell asleep in my chair, and I mean that as a compliment.
I only did fall asleep because I stayed up until three ... read more
