I liked some of her older work, but this just isn't it. Lazy song-writing to uninspired production, this album is a mess.
I got back around to listening to this record, and I really wasn't disappointed. It is pretty easily Carti's best LP yet, and I will admit that I do have a lot of fun bumping this album from time-to-time without really liking his music.
- R.I.P is the best song off the album, and Carti's best song in general.
- Shoota is the 2nd best.
- Old Money is the worst, same with Top.
- There is a bit of mid, but overall, there are more hits than misses. (I also do not get how people are ... read more
Not shocking at all honestly. Never really liked either of these artists, and the entire album was just not it. There lyrics are... interesting, to say the least.
I didn't like it nearly as much as the original, which I didn't even like that much. It is in the same boat as MUSIC, where there are a few good songs, but overall, it is just watered down by all the mid/filler there is on this tracklist.
Goddamn, what was I smoking when I first listened to this? By original rating was a 72, but then I actually relistened to this and took the time to understand this project, and goodness this album is amazing. Kanye West and Kid Cudi really brought out the best out of one another.
Well, Kanye brought out the best of Cudi. Kanye does have better records. There isn't a whole lot I can say that has not been said, but I'll try anyway:
- The production is the best out of any album ... read more
I honestly don't really know what to say. I don't really like it all too much. It really isn't anything special, especially compared to other albums that came out in this year, especially when it is compared to Pinata, Oxymoron, Faces and Days Before Rodeo.
- Wet Dreamz is fantastic.
- No Role Modelz is the best song easily.
Note To Self should NOT be that long, and Hello is mid. Same with St. Tropez and 03' Adolenscence.
I honestly can't sit through this full album, as it is pretty boring at times.
- 4 Your Eyez Only is just a shittier version of SAMIDOT, but it is still good nonetheless.
- Foldin Clothes is horrendous.
- Deja Vu, For Whom the Bell Tolls and She's Mine, Pt. 2 are mid ngl.
His best project, but I honestly can't say I really enjoy it. No matter what J. Cole puts out, there is always going to be songs like 'In The Morning' that just weight it down.
- Too Deep For The Intro is fantastic
- Farewell is also good
- Best Friend, In The Morning, Enchanted and Higher are all kind of mid.
Still a good record though.
This is just a masterclass of Jazz Rap, and the best pure jazz rap album ever created. Some of the best one-liners & pure lyricism that I have ever heard from a project ever, & it is pretty safe to say that this is the best album made by A Tribe Called Quest.
Top Three Tracks:
1. Scenario
2. Excursions
3. Buggin' Out
When two legendary rappers team up, what did you expect to happen? Top five rap album of all time, and I do NOT care what anyone says about it. Some of the best production I've ever heard.
Used to bump this record a lot. After a re-listen, it is pretty good ig Nice pop.
Honestly, I do not get the hype around this record. Sure, it is good, and there are some highs, but there are just so many annoying parts. The end of Ivy, where he is just shouting, ruins the song for me, and the start of Nikes is just annoying. The entire first part of Self Control isn't good, and there is some more stuff that I just do NOT like about it. Nights is pretty good and Pink + White is also pretty good, but a lot of this is just not too good. Very graining and annoying to ... read more
It's just a good trap album. Honestly, there isn't much to say about JACKBOYS past that. However, I have come to appreciate this album a lot more now that the absolute horror of JACKBOYS 2 came out.
