Prelude: Hmm interesting pull. I I've never seen this as an album but mostly as a single. Let's see if it holds up to the mainstream hit which i love.
Postlude:
Wasn't blown away at all. It's kind of whimsical in some songs, like Imagine and Oh, Yoko, but it also gets some time to display rage for Paul McCartney and diss him. I think the difficult guy on the Beatles was actually John, who knows, just my gut feeling.
Some of the songs are ... read more
As letras são fenomenais, tendo sempre alguma crítica na língua, maioritariamente sobre política. O mais impressionante é que as críticas que faz nos anos 1978, continuam completamente atuais, como o que se ouve na primeira música em que diz:
"""
Muito boa noite, senhoras e senhores
muito boa noite, meninos e meninas
enfim, boa noite, gente de todas as cores
e feitios e medidas
e perdoem-me as pessoas
que ficaram esquecidas

I know a lot about Rod Stewart.. I know that his name is Rod Stewart and he is a singer. Oh that's it.
The first album of the 1001 that i found nothing special at all. It's ok blues. I like his raunchy smokey voice but the songs are nothing much of just generic blues rock and his performance is ok too.
The free jazz record (Spy vs Spy) from yesterday made a lasting impact that this is kilometers from making.
Would play beautifully on the Turning ... read more
1001 albums to hear before you randomly disappear into stardust, becoming everything everywhere all at once, defying the principles of time and space. (ig this is a thing now)

Unpleasant
Stop tuning your instruments and start playing.
Jokes aside, this was really interesting and challenging. Frentic playing from all instruments, the intro starts with everything.
The most punk or metal, jazz has ever sounded. Great. (The musicians involved in this are recognized to be from bands of thrash or ... read more

Reminds me a lot of mission of burma. And then i went to hear Mission of Burma and forgot about Magazine.
Magazine rely on weird arpeggios, its interesting and I like the sound of it. Good record.
I guess I'll just like everything that is going to be thrown here. Noice.

Heard this one before, but its always fun to return.
Starting to feel like one day isn't enough for concept dense albums like The Suburbs from Arcade Fire, i didn't have the time to fully appreciate it, but that speaks on the quality of it.
Fatboy Slim is an acquired taste from my dad, it brings nostalgia to my children days when i used to move like crazy to this music.
I think all of the songs should be shorter. It repeats too much or to the ... read more

Prologue: Been a fan of Arcade Fire for a while but when I did know them I wasnt into hearing full albums, so, needless to say, never heard this album front to back, but i think this will be an experience and a good one, i wish.
It was. The themes on this are very current ones today.
"And it seems strange
How we used to wait for letters to arrive
But what's stranger still
Is how something so small can keep you alive
We used to wait
We used to waste hours just walking around

The delivery of this vocalist is so weird that at first I was put back from it. Now i love it, its so engaging
They had me at the first half.
Congratulate them trying for many different styles throughout the album, but some didnt land.
I was really digging the first 3 songs with almost an art rock sound to it. Then it has some skips and sounds derivative, like with The burning of the cork when he repeats again and again it burns, its so deftones.
The vocals. They start getting a bit annoying, but i still like this kind of voices that are about to crack, it reminds me of Ethan P. Flynn which i ... read more

If you would let me know in advance that this would be the album for a valentines saturday and i have nothing to do i would've made the precautions and bought a kilogram of weed to trip balls to this.
Never heard of this, i can only compare this with Strawberry fields by the beatles but rougher, or the doors without an audio engineer, or the kinks without ... read more

Besides kinds of blue (which i really like but i tend not to return to too often), i didn't heard much more from Miles Davis.
The vibe: Cozy winter night at home reading some romance book with 112 pages.
hidden gem of the week (month even) fosho
Theres some tracks that hit hard with the medley of hip hop and r&b like Norfside.
THe production is krayy

nice, the first album that i dont know at all.
Recorded in a single day? ok, interesting.
Post-punk in 1979, when punk wasn't even already established? thats funny.
After a quick search, the punk era started in the beginning of the 70s so im wrong.
Thoughts about it:
me like the sound of thiz, its fun, rebellious but with not much anger
Got tired of this quickly, the guitars are tiresome with the high pitched notes, i guess i was not in the ... read more
