A breath of fresh air
My dad played this album in the car when it got released and he thought it was okay. But for me, I heard something special. So why am I reviewing it only now ? Uhmm it sounds pretty nerdy but I wanted to refine my ear in order to get the maximum out of this album (like catching all the subtleties in the instrumentation and lyrics, and really feeling the moods they put you in, etc). Madlib's instrumentals give the whole project a mystical atmoshpere, truly unique. Freddie is amazing too, though a bit worse at rapping than Madlib is at production. The features are all amazing, especially love them on the outro. Also a very consistent tracklist, but with a weaker last leg.
Really strong first leg and fantastic outro, but a somewhat disappointing middle section, where the songs' production and chorus aren't as catchy and the other ones. Still, the highs are great bangers
Solid listen, Future isn't an amazing lyricist but he's good enough to pull us into his egotrip. It's some boastful stuff so you have classic themes like the holy trinity of drugs, sex and money but also some more varied ones like loyalty, the state of the music industry and violence in the ghetto.

Basically JPEGMAFIA: The Album. Showcases all of his versatility, though it can get long at times
Holy shit this grew massively on me, although it took me a whole year lmao. The album starts off pretty "normally" with verse-chorus-verse structures, but starting from My thoughts on neogaf dying it's almost only long interludes. It's very experimental and was kinda boring to me, but then something clicked. The atmosphere is immaculate and Peggy actually has humour here and isn't acting like this corny tough guy. Very unique album
