Where to begin... Parachutes is one of the most cohesive, eloquent, exceptional albums of the 2000s. Every song encapsulates you in its own world and its done so well through heartful lyricsm combined with wonderful instrumental which evidently belongs to the 2000s but is quite nostalgic in a way that compliments the project. Chris Martin is at top of his game in the vocals, one of his best performances. The songs are very relatable, feel incredibly real. You genuinely have to try your absolute ... read more
Arguably the most critically acclaimed work of the British rock band Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head. This is the follow-up to their 2000 album Parachutes (great album by the way). The two are exceptionally different, both sonically and lyrically. Moving on the the album itself, A Rush of Blood to the Head is very mellow, too mellow for my taste. Although there is quite a bit of contextual material Chris Martin could have dwelt on in this album, it almost feels like you're being ... read more
Coldplay's first efforts at being a pop-rock band, and an edgy one at that. This whole album is nothing but a cliché, low-quality effort at inventing a 'new sound' that has been implented by thousands of other rock bands before. It is full of interludes that serve little to no purpose in carving out a new direction which it miserably fails to do so. The tracklist is quite dull and offers nothing you haven't heard before at least a million times. They managed to make ... read more
I love this album. The tracks are very expressive, relaxing and it just feels really nice listening to it on a rainy day from your home looking out the window wondering what you would have done different in your life. Least favourite song: Magic
Favourite Song: A Sky Full of Stars (can't stress enough how much I love it, absolutely perfect song)
I would like to start off by saying I like Coldplay's music quite a lot. They are often a very innovative band that just does something that blows my mind. This album, however, is not my cup of tea to say the least. The concept of the album is undoubtedly solid but I think that it lacks the proper execution. Coldplay focused so much on creating a cinematic piece that they lost focus somewhere along the way in this project. It simply feels messy. Death and All His Friends blends the ... read more
World Tour(Aquafina) is catchy but has very little material so it gets boring rather fast. Nothing special about it. Lightyears is a better track in comparison, Young Thug's verse is not bad. Juice WRLD has a more chill vibe on this which plays out better as well.
I don't see the appeal with this one at all. I am admittedly not a Fred again fan, but I think this record contains one of his weakest work. It is just a very bloated project. The production isn't terrible though.
Classic album. Not a big fan of In Bloom. Not much to say about an album that has earned its spot as one of the best alternative rock projects of all time. Favourite song is currently Something In The Way but changes quite often as most of the tracks are in rotation in different periods.
Halsey's best album up to date. The tracks are very fun and cathcy. However, I hate SUGA's Interlude with a passion so points deducted for that. I don't see what people are on about as the production quality of this album is absolutely fine. No 1 and No 2 are: You should be sad and 3am respectively.
I am excited to see this new direction Linkin Park is going. Emily's voice and overall style fits well with the band. Decent song.
Not a great album by any means but certainly not as bad as people make it out to be. Of course it is not comparable to projects like Meteora or Hybrid Theory but I think it's somewhat of a breat of fresh air. Favourite song: Talking to Myself.
I haven't listened to Jessie Ware since her last project 'What's Your Pleasure?' and I must say I like this album aswell. Her voice is more outstanding in this project which is a huge compliment as she was killing it in the last one. However, I can't really see myself coming back to most of these songs unlike What's Your Pleasure which was on repeat for a whole year. Thus, the rating.
Loved it more when it first came out. Would've given it at least an 85. Spotlight is still a banger though.
Although I like U2's music quite a lot, I struggle to see why people think very highly of this project. It is a fine album but I find most of the songs uninteresting sonically. It is a much less mainstream yet much more approachable, in terms of its subject matter, project in comparison to something like The Joshua Tree. In overall it's an alright album that falls short to the praise it's often given.
I can't believe I've heard this for the first time today. It is amazing. Almost every track made me wish it was longer. Big fan of Frank and listened to all his other projects and will say I like this visual masterpiece even better than Blonde, although I think Blonde is better in production quality and overall songwriting aspect. Endless just speaks to me more on a personal level, of course I have listened to Blonde for the first time years ago so I might have some bias there, and it ... read more
