May be an unpopular opinion to like Few Good Things more than this possible classic, but it's still such a great experience that like Few Good Things, is able to take you deep into the world of this album & really make you feel like you're experiencing everything with him. I definitely think PROM/KING could be considered Saba's best song, closely tied with Few Good Things or 2012, but I think there's a lot more highs on Few Good Things compared to CARE FOR ME. Fun short listen that still brings lots of enjoyment & creativity that Smino always brings with flows, lyrics & vocals like no one else. Pretty good production throughout everything too. Quite a few forgettable songs like Dear Fren, Tequan, Glo-Fi & Bun B was pretty disappointing as a feature & I do like Ms. Joyce quite a bit. Of course, not as good as Smino's other projects, but still a cool fun listen. I saw him live on this album's tour & it was so much fun.
Could it just like have... something!?! There's new people like Yeat & Carti that could make this sound interesting with willing to take some experimental risks production or vocal wise with their tone or delivery, but this just feels like nothing. So many of the beats sounds so messy & clunky & with his vocals that either sound bad with his autotune or sound like nothing interesting. And I can't find anything good in the writing. I can at least find entertainment in Yeat. ... read more
Personally prefer Cameron's solo work, but still a very solid album with all of the playing & writing throughout the album being pretty solid. A few songs I don't care to go back to much compared to the other songs, but really great & fun work with lots of highlights like Trinidad, Cobra, Husbands, Half Real & Au Pays du Cocaine. I very much get the recent hype for Geese cause it's very much deserved cause all of the band members are very talented & I'm ... read more
I'm sad, but I'm not this boring kind of sad. Definitely some standouts like Fuck Love, Revenge & Orlando, but it's not like I ever revisit those songs ever cause I don't. I don't ever revisit this album, but I remember my first listen feeling very bored & lots of it being so forgettable even with the billions of streams this album has.
Thank you Emma for breaking Justin's heart so we can get a classic.
No but in all honesty, like with every Bon Iver album, this album didn't connect with me at all on first listen. I definitely wasn't in the right environment for it though cause I heard it at my old pizzeria job. A hot busy kitchen is no place for sad indie folk. But now revisiting it a few months ago, it definitely all makes sense like all of Bon Iver's work to me now & hits me in beautiful ways that I ... read more
Somehow the must overrated & overhated album of the 2020's. Just because it's technically Kendrick's weakest album & may be overplayed or overhyped at some points, it's still such a fantastic & overall solid album. There's still not a weak point on the album & the points that can be seen as weak have grown a lot on me. The title track is no joke probably my favorite song on the album. That beat rocks idc what anyone says
This album may be heavily bloated, but I don't care. It's still so fun to listen to. I'm rockstar made.
Such a beautiful & hauntingly peaceful album front to back. It's the perfect vibe for a lonely walk at night if you want everything you look at to feel hopeless & like there's no one else around. Even though it is a pretty amazing listen throughout, maybe a few tracks that aren't bad but nothing much to standout. But it in my opinion has some of Nat's strongest songs. The title track is so phenomenal with the writing, instrumentation & his voice just fits the ... read more
It's very tied between this & Still Bill as my favorite Bill Withers album with lots of amazing standouts like You, The Same Love That Made Me Laugh, Ruby Lee, Can We Pretend & Make a Smile for Me. Some whatever forgettable songs throughout, but nothing on here is terrible cause how could Bill ever make a bad song? He's one of the greatest songwriters ever. I say that even though Can We Pretend is probably my favorite Bill Withers song & it's the only song on this ... read more
My first Daniel Caesar album that I listened to when it came out & geez this album has so much nostalgia from me. Listening to this in high school with Blonde & untitled unmastered, walking home while listening to TOO DEEP TO TURN BACK, ARE YOU OK? & SUPERPOSITION. The first half of this album personally has some just okay moments, but the second half of this album is nonstop greatness. SUPERPOSITION is probably a top 30 song of all time, just meaning so much to me nostalgia wise ... read more
The girl on the album cover is my spirit animal when listening to this album.
This was my first full listen to a SAULT album & was honestly kind of disappointed as a full album. Maybe I just personally don't care for SAULT's punk rock sound too much. Even though Money is actually one of my favorite songs ever, but other than that, kind of a forgettable tracklist.
I know a lot of people probably don't know who this is & I very unfortunately & regrettably didn't know who he was for long while he was alive. I found him from a Questlove playlist around December 2023 & thought the album cover looked really cool, so I decided to listen to it & was immediately blown away. Such a powerful voice & songwriter with incredible instrumentation throughout the whole album combining genres greatly like R&B, jazz, soul, funk & ... read more
A very underrated album & artist that I think deserves a lot more praise & attention. While I thought this album was just decent being somewhat repetitive & boring in most parts, it still was pretty good. I wouldn't say anything was bad cause it wasn't & had a great atmosphere throughout every instrument, just pretty forgettable.
Worth the 8 year wait? Honestly, yes. A lot of incredible highlights with barely any weak points besides just a few tracks I don't care much about like PLAYA, WHISKEY & THE END. And some songs like HELICOPTER, STAY HERE 4 LIFE & AIR FORCE are pretty hit or miss, depends on my mood, but none of these songs are terrible. I actually really like STFU & TRIP BABY. My favorite track is either STOP SNITCHING or ROBBERY. But yeah, nice work A$AP Rocker.
