Hey I get Death Grips now, I can join the elite club and leave the musical dark ages and have a medal and stuff. Pat self on back, well done matey. I just go snoot at some folks, call them normie, be right back.
He's right when he says 'no one sounds like this'. It's like he's a slider from a timeline where Erik B & Rakim never existed.
It's great, and yes, being 40 is a bit crappy. I look forward to cinquanta which will be about not giving a shit at 50, Atrocity Exhibition with grandkids and diabetes, It'll be awesome.
It's ok. I don't know why I don't like it very much but I don't. It doesn't sound like Doom Metal to me and I found it a bit boring. I probably need to listen to their earlier albums - the Pallbearer True Fans appear to rate those much more.
Reminds me of Dresden Dolls. Is Sweet about meeting biological mother for the first time? I don't know.
How can you not give this 100? Because it's sexist and homophobic? They're the best bits.
When it's great it's great, but when it's boring it is very, very boring. I don't need the following tracks: Blinded By Your Grace Pt1, Velvet, Cigarettes & Cush, Blinded By Your Grace Pt2... If these tracks mysteriously went missing I could give this 100 points.
Exactly the sort of thing I like, how can I not give it 100. A folky singer with some weird cellos and NIN type noises going on. And there's a Carnyx in there somewhere, and I wouldn't be suprised if there's a Hurdy-Gurdy. What's not to love.
A bit slow at times but also interesting. Another reviewer called it gothic rock, but it sounds more folky to me. But I guess there are some very The Cure type moments. Deserves more than 5 ratings. And definitely deserves a score higher that 55.
It's fine, but I also got bored and was confused reading all the other reviews. That happens sometimes.
Just some solid indie-rock type stuff. And it never really dips in quality. I very much enjoyed Fight Beat, which everyone else seems to think is the low point of the album.
I sort of don't get it. There's slide whistles in it. Pretty good at times though, like on Our Prayer and when Mrs. O'Leary's Cow goes all weird and ominous. Best Album Ever Made according to some.
