this album is a fucking masterpiece and honest to god one of the reasons i am alive today.
the singles for this were there for me during lockdown, when i needed them most. every time things looked really bleak, porter dropped another, and i knew i could keep going for a while longer.
this album feels like being surrounded by flowers and knowing that everything will be okay, no matter how bad it is.
it will all be okay in the end <3
this is an unbelievably strong first album from an artist without anywhere near enough traction.
recommended to me by spotify, i listened to "I Wait For You To Get Home". i was struck by the pure soft intimacy of the recording/mixing that makes it sound like someone whispering you a lullaby. for me, very few artists can do this without making it feel uncomfortable or intrusive. people that can do it well are the likes of elliot smith, adrienne lenker, billie eilish and - apparently - ... read more
listen to this album, play this game, listen to this album again. remember all the promises you've ever made. feel dread, feel fear, feel love. and for god's sake, remember your promise.

lil mabu i am begging you to stop making music, please, you have money and time, you could do anything, it doesn't have to be this, please
"there is still time" <3
it's rare that i get excited about a film just by glancing at its soundtrack listing, but godDAMN do you see those names?
yeule and caroline polachek's tracks in particular are some of my favourite songs ive heard from them recently. i hadn't listened to king woman before, but psychic wound and bury were compelling enough tracks that they won me over.
overall, this album is a masterpiece soundtrack to a masterpiece film.
