Never thought there would be a record that would make me want to get into black metal until now. This record has beautiful instrumentals and the aesthetics of the artwork and visualizers feel so liminal. It just sad that the constant same vocal delivery throughout the whole album doesn't really hit for me. But I think what's going make me come back to this album are the lyrics. This album sounds like if slipknot's studio material didn't have any depth at all and they forced one song with trap metal that transitions to a metal beatdown section. I can see this material going hard live but it doesn't in-studio. My Full Album Reaction: https://youtu.be/jJC5cc1y_Rk
This album is a very big improvement compared to their last work "Mare". While riffs were still very technically crazy and innovative, it was still letting the listener hold on to a catchy riff or groove for a bit before moving on to the next part, which was my biggest complaint about "Mare".
