Never thought there would be a record that would make me want to get into black metal until now. This record has beautiful instrumentals and the aesthetics of the artwork and visualizers feel so liminal. It just sad that the constant same vocal delivery throughout the whole album doesn't really hit for me. But I think what's going make me come back to this album are the lyrics. There's definitely a lot subject matter to explore in this album. My Full Album Reaction: ... read more
Not much of a Hardcore listener but this album fucks and the artwork is awesome. Full Album Reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J6ieRZe4M4&t=816s
This album sounds like if slipknot's studio material didn't have any depth at all and they forced one song with trap metal that transitions to a metal beatdown section. I can see this material going hard live but it doesn't in-studio. My Full Album Reaction: https://youtu.be/jJC5cc1y_Rk
This album is a very big improvement compared to their last work "Mare". While riffs were still very technically crazy and innovative, it was still letting the listener hold on to a catchy riff or groove for a bit before moving on to the next part, which was my biggest complaint about "Mare". Overall a very fun listen as always and I can't wait to see where they go next. | t h a L L | My Full Album Reaction: https://youtu.be/VXzb7IkqK-Y
I do think this album is a great start for this new era of Linkin Park. While it's a very short album, it delivered on all the different elements that I love about the band. While there is songs like Casualty and Overflow, I didn't love too much, there insanely greats songs like "Cut the Bridge" that has a very fun Paramore sound, and the last 4 tracks of the album that nonstop amazed me on my first listen for many different reasons. I don't think this is a album that ... read more
Fit For An Autopsy took the musical nuance from both "The Sea of Tragic Beasts" and "Oh What the Future Holds" and made it in to a power house of an album. Those past albums had a lot of experimentation with their softer and atmospheric side, also had a shift of sound in their last album, that had a very Gojira type feel in the guitar and drum work. But this album feels cohesive and less jarring for the first listen compared to their two previous works. The lyrics hits you ... read more
I wanted 23 minutes of caveman screams and guitar chugs. I got what I wanted... Full Album Reaction: https://youtu.be/T0l6GyJ-wa4
This album really impressed me with their vocal innovations and the variety of different influences through out the album. This is band is definitely on to something that is really resonating with people but I'm not totally on the 156/Silence train yet. This album gives me a mixture of Loathe and Knocked Loose (or whatever hardcore band you can think of), that also sometimes feel very cinematic at times. Definitely need some more time with this album. Really looking forward for more ... read more
This album has a lot of interesting moments that can be jarring for the first listen but all the transitions between the heavy & softer moments do make sense the more you listen to it. Personally most of leprous music doesn't really hit but the lyrically it really hits for me, especially the song "Starlight". I don't think I will ever get deep into their music but I do really respect the creativity and innovation in in each album cycle. My Full Album Reaction: ... read more
Fun first time listen but probably will never come back this... Full Album Reaction: https://youtu.be/Dl-GNm__so0
This album feels like projection of someone that says that they have more than you but deep inside they have nothing. Ronnie can't talk about anything outside of cancel culture and the world coming after them, if doesn't he doesn't have haters to talk about him, he has nothing. I genuinely hope that he has some kinda of value in other places in his life like his family, friends, or other relationships because if he doesn't, that makes this album very sad.
From start to finish this album has great progression and innovation. All features were awesome, especially Jamie Hails. I feel like we got a way more intense version of his vocals and how far he can go. Hope to hear more vocals like that in future Polaris songs. But lyrically the songs felt empty and I hope that there is some kind of context with the lyrical content that would make this album grow on me.
This is a very solid hardcore album that is pretty consistent from start to finish. The mix is very easy on the ear compared to other hardcore releases that are trying to blow your ear off with their explosive breakdowns. Which can be a bad thing depending on the release but here it works pretty well. The only thing I don't like are some of the clean vocal melody choice that I felt could be more catchy and interesting. My full album reaction: ... read more
I think this album feel cohesive all together from start to finish compared to Pressure. While Pressure's songs are good in their individual way, all the song in one album doesn't work well. I think their album Manic was a good blend of all the styles that felt cohesive all together. But Stigma feels like radio music with no depth or feeling for me. I think a lot of the song writing is very fun with the mixture of incorporating more thashy type riffs and some interesting electronic ... read more
This one of the best Christian metalcore albums I've heard in recent years. Instrumentally it has a great mix between newer and older metalcore music. Lyrically this album really puts up this album from a 85, up to a 90 after years of knowing this album. I hope to hear more Phinehas in the near future. This EP's instrumentals are just wild. A lot of very interesting drum beat choices, some being more simple compared to what other bands use. The EP flows very well and the transitions are seemless. I personally hope they find a vocalist that will fit in with their sound. My Full Album Reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfNPDS1sKN8&t=7s
Metal music that is extreme like this is very fun to listen to but I will never listen to this album from start to finish again. I think this band should release albums that are around 45 mins or less, but I do think if this band release more EPs, I may listen to the whole think more often. Atomic Origin ft. Garrett Russell (Vocalist of Silent Planet) and Sora ft. Marcus Bridge (Vocalist of Northlane) are the main highlights of this album for me. Its a fun listen for the first time, but ... read more
This album is Reliqa's best work by far. On my first listen there was some moments I thought were weird but now they are starting really grow on me. While people are going to love the heavy moments of this album, personally the soft moments in this album are what really sold me. After the listening to the album, the song "Two Steps Apart" really connected with me and the lyrics seemed to be about struggles with family, which is a topic that I personally think about a lot within my ... read more
I can't really fully review the song writing of this album because the mix is so bad and crunchy compared to amazing mix of "The Way It Ends" and GOD DAMN "I Let the Devil In" *Chiefs Kiss*. Every time I try to listen to this album, the first track is all I need to listen too to stop listening to the album. I feel like the song writing and the lyrical content is very good and could definitely grow on me if the mix was better. "The Death We Seek", ... read more
