My 7th grade English teacher was a huge Weezer fan. He would sometimes play their old songs in class, and the first one he ever played for us was “Pork and Beans”. Although I had heard some Weezer songs on the radio in my youth, that song, and its corresponding crazy video, got me into Weezer.

Anyways, this album is really, really weird. And Scott Shriner should not be allowed to write songs anymore.

Welcome to the Weezer crawl! I had the bright idea to review every Weezer album, in order of publication, all in a row, so, buckle up, I’ve got a lot of Weezer reviews waiting to post.

Most of this album is fine, but completely forgettable. What baffles me is why Weezer decided to release the two worst songs off the album as singles. Dope Nose and Keep Fishin’ are memorable, but so are songs like Slob and Burndt Jamb, and those two songs are actually good.
