One of the most thematically consistent Tyler albums to date. It’s more experimental, more polished, and has more mature themes. Some of the slower songs can be a little dull, but I love the songs that showcase Tyler’s flow and vocal power. Overall, really solid.

This album is an album at its most excellent when it turns production up to 100, turning the horn section up and pushing Erykah’s incredible vocal talent to the max. The lyricism throughout is outstanding, and there’s so much raw emotion. On the flip side, there were a few “filler tracks” that had no standout value to me. Oh well, still really good.
