Its whack!
Songs aint cool just catchy.
Other songs are just dreadful with their duration and lack of substance
Lyrically its unimpressive.
That being said ive listened to this albums too much because of its catchyness.
This album is a lot of fun! I enjoyed Spitfire and Andy, and don't have much to elaborate on.
I'm personally not a big fan of Midwest emo but this EP does a lot for me. I enjoyed the vocals and lyrics very much. Lily pad pupils is the most notable track as the album has an interest in build ups to a big part of a song. It makes each track exciting to listen. I would recommend this album.
My first taste of Fiona Apple was "the first taste" and that song was on loop for quite a while. This is one of my favorite albums. The use of traditional instrumentation and the blues like sound brings a tough street kid feel with noir ideas.
The first album I listened to by Swans and also my first post rock album. Songs this long are done well and the sounds repeat but it's impossible to be annoyed as you are hooked and want to hear what will be added or changed. I love the writing and ideas given in tracks like paradise is mine and Michael is done.
An easy listen that has fun experimentation with glitches and the production feels large like a blanket in a chilly night. My listening experience was extremly pleasant.
I'm no fucking Buddhist, but this is enlightenment. I adore this album and all it contains. Joga, alarm call, and Pluto all have a passion. Bjork has lyrics that could be seen as corny but her delivery gives so much to every song. Each track has a believeability that gives so much to song that it's hard not to feel what the song is giving.
Could have been good. Parts of this are alright and if given more time would be decent. But in the end the mix is a mess and if you don't ignore some lyrics it's mediocre.
There is a simplicity that goes into the rawness of this album that is contagious. The album is berating and like getting beaten (in a good way). It's what I look for in metal and rebellious sounds.
The highs of the album give a great amount if cool riffs. Lyrics, and drum beats. At the worst this album can be a little slow. Nevertheless I still enjoy.
Good riffs and good production. My issues are drawn from the writing which are lackluster. There is potential that i like the song is not terrible.
I want to dance while crying. There is so much personality that it suffocates and it's good.
Frankly its hard to hold my bias as Jakey is a creator who im fond of but i'll try to be honest. None of these tracks are perfect. Nevertheless, I do love this album. Jakey has made beats that get stuck in my head and writes what's on his mind. Not every lyric is clever but I still remain interested. There is some parts I don't like. For example, on "Reboks or the Nikes" the drop after the lyric "This is the sound of letting go" is something I've heard ... read more
I want this album to be good. It's got good art, a great first 4 tracks, and it's got cool bass. Despite the positives it is still flawed with glaring issues that are just cringe. Maybe you laugh on the first listen to skips like "all in the family" but they become unbearable. There is no bearing it for a full album experience. I still listened to korn for like a month straight though...(I was young-ish)
