Everett, I'm gonna be honest, I was NOT expecting to like this album that much. I'm actually kind of shocked. I know that sounds bad but hey, that means you're an underdog at least! Ouroboric is an incredible debut album. The production? Pristine. The story? Heart-wrenching. The solos? Bangin'. The songwriting? Decided to rate my other favorite pop albums since I was rating ECEL's album, figured I might as well.
I don't take recs on this site cause I'm never on here but my good buddy Everett a.k.a. ECEL told me to listen to this so here I am. I'm not a big ambient fan, I tend to get bored with it after not too long but this is a pretty damn good ambient album. It's sparse but also really lush. I think if I had to pick the best songs, I'd say Driving Through Clouds, Repaint the Stars, Below the Waves, Crystal Clear, and The Iciest Eyes would be my top 5 in that order.
You owe me lunch for taking the time out of my day to do this Everett. No I'm just kidding. This is sick! This feels like it has a better idea of what it wants to be than the other similar singles like From the Outside and Deeper. You seriously just keep blowing me away, I'm seriously so impressed!
