An album i'm regretting not giving the time of day in 2024. Cameron Winter's visceral vocal performances, beautiful ballads and building instrumentals provide a great, raw and genuine atmosphere, I can see why people are obsessing over this album. Just some songs being a bit too samey is what's stopping me from loving it more but overall, this is a passionate display and I definitely want to hear more.

This is my first listen ever to a King Gizzard project and I wasn't expecting this for sure....
I was expecting a more psychedelic approach, but was left surprised with the bands orchestral elements. Some tracks sound a bit tacky and showtune like, but for me, it's hard to knock how much they killed it instrumentally on this album. The first two tracks showcase this the best, sonically just so polished and well arranged. Now sometimes they go too deep into this orchestral bag, where ... read more
First hearing Young Wabo from a feature on Scubadiver's album in 2023, I was expecting this album to be more Hip-Hop, but i'm surprised with the mix of country-folk, rap and indie pop displayed on here.
His vocals do take some time to click and although I like the atmosphere on most tracks, this album is overall a bit too underdeveloped and unexplored and that stops it from really grabbing my attention. It's cool to see Wabo expand his sound though for sure, and there's ... read more
Why is moonbeam ice cream lowkey the best song on here.......
Fella can sing, yeah the music is bad but I wouldn't go out my way and say it is the most horrible shit ever, just sounds like another mainstream artist who can't write a single meaningful lyric. Boooooringggg.
Favourite song : Mystical Magical.
Least favourite : Wanted Man.
Be Again plays with many different sounds, there's some downtempo, there's some dream pop, it progresses really well with it's continuously building instrumentals and the atmospheric piano ballads, with his vocals occasionally popping up but they add a great amount of good too.
Although I don't know much about iANO, I think this first impression is more than enough to know he's cooking up his own little niche sound here and I am very pleased to be hearing it. ... read more
A Museum Of Contradiction has some of Mk.gee's grooviest tunes, Western might be my favourite song of his all together and this project was the perfect stepping stone to progress and make a fully realised project in the future like Two Star & the Dream Police. Great project.
EDIT: Man this project has a beautiful and calming nature to it when you put your focus away from the main bangers. Obviously tracks like cz, Western and Isn't It So Convenient are incredible, but man ... read more
A project i've wanted to get around to for a while but i'm left disappointed. The vocal effects are a bit too fuzzy and messy along with some instrumental pallets just being a bit too repetitive and overall i'm left with nothing much to take away from this project. The last 3 songs are the main highlights and I wished the whole album had that level of intensity and interest.
Favourite songs : October Country and Damien.
Least favourite : By the Flame.
I didn't know there was such thing as a Bossa Nova Shoegaze album but here we are, my two worlds colliding. Natureza Morta delivers a powerful message, through it's way of building the instrumentals to be soothing and soft at first, but harsh and confrontational when it gets to the end.
It's instrumentally so layered and really ambitious, it's always building and building and that makes me always keep my interest. sonhos tomam conta takes the traditional sound of their own ... read more
It's always a pleasure to listen to any music from the Korean rock/shoegaze scene and Fin Fior has seriously delivered one of the most versatile albums of 2025 so far. It's a mix of Rock, Shoegaze, Emo Pop, EDM, Punk and more. A hard list of genres to mix into one cohesive vision and Fin Fior's amazing and captivating production brings this whole sound to fruition. His high pitched vocals are really cool too, unique and adds even more catchiness to the hooks.
Overall, although ... read more
Scubadiver is FINALLY back with two new songs for his upcoming album. This album rollout has had quite a mysterious and eeire vibe to it with the teasers and I can tell you right now, the wait was worth it.
Air Defense is easily one of Scubadiver's most realised and mature songs, his music is always so hard to pin down sonically and he does it again here, the production is just so futuristic and the overall psychedelic feel, catchy hook, unique soundscape, it just clicks. One of his best ... read more
All round a great mix of indie rock and shoegaze from the underrated band Subsonic Eye. Topshelf really do have great hidden gems signed to their record label and this is another example. Instrumentally everything is mixed and blended so well together and although a tad bit repetitive at times, the vocals are enough to keep me entertained through this short but sweet project.
Favourite songs : Why Am I Here and Overgrown.
Least favourite : Lost.
I'm surprised I haven't gotten around to this project sooner as Scubadiver is easily one of my favourite artists of all time. Las Vegas Simulator is a nice little EP with some passionate rapping from Perry Maysun that is sometimes a bit too intense but still pretty decent. Production is good from Scuba and overall some cool abstract hip-hop here that definitely showcases what both artists were capable of in the future.
Favourite song : Swan1Killed.
Least favourite : Chicken Nugget.
Always nice to hear some more tracks from this unforgettable era. Some cool and chill tracks here, peggy is doing a good job at keeping us entertained while we wait for his next project that will for sure blow minds.
It's been done before, perhaps done better, but K1 is still an album that adds to the great collection of the sudden rise of hyperpop.
We have another DAW master on our hands that is out here making music that doesn't bore you at all. Their sound is a mix of frailty era Jane Remover and normal catchy hyperpop with the lead synth melodies and that is a combination I am all here for. The first two tracks are the highlights for me, both tracks have amazing amounts of energy and ... read more
Hip-Hop is alive this week with McKinley Dixon poetically rapping his way through a spiritual journey of childhood stories and concepts, with great hope and optimism near the end.
Although I wasn't too keen on most features, the instrumentals is what does it for me, pure bliss. The flute work man, so good. I kind of wished he went deeper into the blissful bag, like some of the jazz on here, can honestly rival TPAB. The last 3 tracks showcase this the best, with one of the best three ... read more
Despite a slow start, Lotus is a great collaborative effort, Little Simz shows a great amount of vulnerability, from tackling family connections and demotivation, to showing true love and hope in the most self-empowering way. One of the most motivational albums of the year. Incredible flow and lyricism, incredible production, especially on the last 3 tracks, and overall Little Simz is solidifying her spot with the best of the best in rap.

When Addison Rae first started to make music, I wasn't so interested, just sounded like another influencer trying to cash in on the music industry, but after she met Charli XCX, The music has been on a rapid increase.
Addison is very 2000s coded, the production is very dreamy and trippy and the atmosphere of it all fits so well with Addison's vocals, which are actually great. It's a great mix of 90s-2000s Madonna style pop with modern day mainstream pop. Sometimes the lyrics are ... read more
Sincerely, is one of the most lush and dreamy albums of 2025 so far with a strong start and a strong finish. One listen this album and in no time you're on a cloud floating through the sky. Spacious vocals, delicate instrumentals, affectionate songwriting, Kali Uchis is not desperately trying to impress on this album, which is what makes everything so genuine and soulful.
Some tracks around the halfway point of the project sound a bit samey in terms of the hooks and overall production, ... read more
A chill and breezy collection of tunes from Weiland with cool retro production, some inconsistent vocals and I wasn't a fan of the Summrs feature but I'm liking the overall aesthetic of this project. Great little EP.
Favourite song : You Can't Climb The Mountain in N.Y.
Least favourite : The Girl Is Not Mine.
