A great additional 3 tracks, definitely the best pack of tracks in the whole Anomaly series, it's great to see him lean more into Shoegaze too, it's 100% what he's best at. there's such a promising route for Flawed Mangoes as an artist and I can't wait to hear more, these new tracks definitely bumped up the score of the whole album!
I still haven't even processed the fact that we have a new Tyler, The Creator album but here it is, and it's his best work of the decade so far.
DON'T TAP THE GLASS says cut all the bullshit, let's just vibe. No concept, no deep meanings, no pressure to impress, it's just Tyler releasing some fun shit and he doesn't care about what people think of it. One of his most genuine albums to date. I don't even care about the rough mixing too, I guess on some songs ... read more
Just a really bland, bloated and uninspired set of tracks, a few decent parts in small spurts but I just really hope Travis doesn't go down this lane in his next album. JACKBOYS 2 is like I told ChatGPT to generate a basic 2020s Hip-Hop album, there's almost no soul.
Favourite songs : CHAMPAIN & VACAY and 2000 EXCURSION.
Least favourite : PBT and SHYNE.
This is a cool collective of singer songwriter tunes but nothing here entirely blows me away or stands out. It does it's job at least. The album starts pretty strong with great instrumentation but takes a dip at the halfway point with some pretty forgettable songs that still flow nicely, but don't have the same energy as other tracks on here. His voice is nice though and there's definitely a lot of stuff to like about this project, whether that be the pleasant mixture of folk and ... read more
On an album full of scraps, KasaLovr still unites many different styles into one, an extremely hard to pin down set of tracks with incredibly smart production, but sometimes too abrasive in terms of the mixing. The fully fleshed out tracks on here are amazing, hopefully we get to see an album of fully realised songs from KasaLovr in the future, as there is great potential here.
Favourite songs : give up, give up and teeth.
Least favourite : horsey sauce.
What a breath of fresh air in the UK Hip-Hop scene.
This is proving to be Jim Legxacy's true breakout project, mixing some of the most fun hip-hop songs of the year with many different weird subgenres, I mean I wasn't expecting some sad folk tunes added into the mix but I'm loving every bit of it, every song is so incredibly catchy thanks to Jim Legxacy's great vocals, entertaining production and effective sample chopping.
Overall, Jim shows a great contrast of fun and ... read more
It's only been a week and this is already the most overhated album of 2025 so far. I can't believe i'm letting an album called SWAG that has 3 Druski features into the album of the year shortlist, but sonically I CANNOT deny how great this is.
Look, i'll get the negatives out of the way, it's bloated, some songs near the end of the album are a bit cliche and tacky and obviously the Druski conversations are super corny, but eh there's a funny side to it I guess. If ... read more
TURQUOISEDEATH has easily created one of the most forward-thinking electronic albums of the decade. Each song is a complete odyssey. It's multi-phased and produced amazingly with a mesmerising psychedelic atmosphere, each song transitions into each other so smoothly too.
The building and building instrumentals keep me entertained throughout the whole experience, the mixture of ambient music and drum and bass is heavenly, two genres I love so much mashing together so effortlessly is ... read more
A banging and braggadocious effort from the duo with unreal chemistry, normally this sound isn't my go-to in Hip-Hop, but you can't deny this is one of the best produced rap albums of the year. Some tracks are a bit underdeveloped but apart from that, great album.
Favourite songs : The Birds Don't Sing and So Be It.
Least favourite : All Things Considered.
My reintroduction to Brockhampton starts with their debut SATURATION, it's been near half a decade since i've listened to any of their stuff, they kind of got overwritten by new music I discovered at that time, so this was basically a first listen as I have mostly forgot everything.
Brockhampton offer an incredibly catchy deal of pop infused rap bangers that show how good this group's chemistry was, everyone bounces off each other so well, Kevin Abstract and JOBA kill it on most ... read more
After finally listening to Jane's full album discography, I am left stunned with the diverse sonic palette, her incredible progression in such a short amount of time and just overall how each album gets better and better.
Census Designated is her take on Shoegaze and slow, droney, singer-songwriter guitar ballads and yeah she killed it. Talk about pure tension and world building in some of these songs and when the instrumentals reach their climax, it can rival Revengeseekerz in terms of ... read more
Let down immensely by it's 2nd half, XXXTENTACION still offers some smooth ballads and decent vocal performances in random spurts once again. I've heard all these songs hundreds of times over the years but listening again with the perspective of a first listen made me realise that X really could write a great catchy song, just in an inconsistent way though.
When Showbiz! hits his stride, it can be one of the most deeply interesting but also fun Hip-Hop albums of the year so far, but the unnecessary bloat and reoccurring flows can slow down the pace a good bit. Instrumentally it's great, some brilliant sample chopping and each song transitions smoothly to keep the album tied together, he does the job lyrically too and it's overall a very chill album, but sometimes too chill, which leads to not enough emotion to fully pull me in. Still a ... read more
I'm surprised with how much traction this album has, as sonically it's definitely something I wouldn't expect to be semi-mainstream. choke enough's dreamy, spacious and heavily reverbed instrumentals allows for an extremely chill and easy listen, the vocals are mixed amazingly and they smoothly compliment the relaxing atmosphere this album has.
I have heard better in this style though, tad bit repetitive too and lacking in replay value, but overall, Oklou still adds a ... read more
Björk began her long solo escapade mixing vibes and beauty into her most easily accessible project to date. The first half of this album made me think this could top Homogenic and Post, but after track 6 it does take a dip, still great but definitely lacking the kick that the first half had.
Some highlights are Human Behaviour, which is a pretty weird song to find so catchy but I love it, Venus As a Boy.....pure beauty, you think the song couldn't get any better but then the strings ... read more
An intense 34 minute journey, a deeply introspective and visceral effort from Lorde, an album that she's needed for all her career. You really need to sit down and deeply listen to this album rather than vibe out to it, which aren't my favourite types of albums and some tracks are quite forgettable or just outshined by better, more meaningful songs but overall there's still no denying that this album's atmosphere can take you places, her vocals can cut deep and take you on ... read more
Kevin Abstract's best work post Brockhampton.
The idea and motivation towards this project is just so refreshing to see, this is by no means a second Brockhampton, but an open cast of many different artists combing their unique sounds into one. Each song acts a different piece of a bigger puzzle, with the puzzle being just creating music the fun way, I love it.
Each song is very catchy and after one listen, the hooks were already stuck in my head, especially on the last two tracks. ... read more
Quedronol has a great deal of talent, the folk aspects of this album are top notch, his slow and calm vocals fit very smoothly when mixed with this album's decent amount of ambience too. If he pushes forward and cleans up some of the electronic parts as sometimes they come off a bit messy and rushed, then there's no saying where he'll be in a couple years. Great album.
Favourite songs : American eagle and Together.
Least favourite : Prehistoric shit.
So happy I was able to pick up this record, the extra tracks are so haunting and beautiful, Gone Gone might be my favourite unreleased quad song.
A slight drop from Nice Try, her vocals are great but I'm not a fan of how isolated they sound in the mix. Still a good song and I can't wait to hear this album. Hopefully some longer tracks too.
