Had the pleasure of seeing these lads perform a couple weeks ago. I was blown away with just how talented they are and how tight they sounded–and being so young! Hell of a show. Looking forward to their next release already.
It's like a mix between Mac DeMarco, Ariel Pink, and her own thing. With tasteful, lush but subtle instrumentation the album feels very enjoyable to listen to in that special way that only hypnagogic pop can do.
Excellent mashup between two heavy-hitters in the post-rock/instrumental music world. It's not complicated, which is just what we need in such a fucked up time in the US right now.
What a faithful yet fresh take on this classic album.
