Not great but it's still overlooked. Just too many people here honestly, even if it's pretty cohesive conceptually. No one steals the show, but no one ruins this either. A few tracks disappointed my expectations.
A pretty overrated album for me, people act as if this is one of the best Griselda projects of the decade but I disagree. I think some songs here are amazing but overall, as much as I love Roc Marciano, his production isn't it for me in over half of these songs. Stove God Cooks does his best to help but it doesn't suffice for most songs. The moments where they do both contribute (Rolls Royce Break Lights, John $tarks), you get MASTERPIECES.
Conway gets extremely personal on this album, which isn't usual for a Griselda album, and it payed off. Beautiful instrumentation, Conway is up to his standards and it's a very cohesive project. However, I think the features were pretty disappointing, for such a guest-heavy album.
Such a solid, consistent album - one of the most approachable in Billy Woods' catalog. The beats are all super good, and the few ones that do lack a bit are compensated by the cryptic rapper's lyricism.
It's pretty good, some amazing songs here, but I don't revisit most. Works better as an album listen for me. I will say the vibe of this album is hard to replicate.
