Rome Streetz really been HIM the whole time. Put him over any beat and he crushes it. Sometimes the producers set him back a bit, but here it isn't the case for the most part. I really don't know why I'm rating it this low, but for me I just think the highs here aren't to the level of other Rome projects.
I'm a bit biased because not only am I a huge Earl fan, but I was also gifted this vinyl for my birthday. That being said, it's overhated. It's Earl's worst probably, but I love the ambient. 4N for example gives me this cozy and dreamy feeling I can't describe. EAST would drive me insane after enough listens. But EL TORO COMBO MEAL is what shines here - MAVI, wowww, what a verse, one of the bets I've ever heard, period. Shame Earl recorded his through a microwave.
Not great but it's still overlooked. Just too many people here honestly, even if it's pretty cohesive conceptually. No one steals the show, but no one ruins this either. A few tracks disappointed my expectations.
A pretty overrated album for me, people act as if this is one of the best Griselda projects of the decade but I disagree. I think some songs here are amazing but overall, as much as I love Roc Marciano, his production isn't it for me in over half of these songs. Stove God Cooks does his best to help but it doesn't suffice for most songs. The moments where they do both contribute (Rolls Royce Break Lights, John $tarks), you get MASTERPIECES.
Conway gets extremely personal on this album, which isn't usual for a Griselda album, and it payed off. Beautiful instrumentation, Conway is up to his standards and it's a very cohesive project. However, I think the features were pretty disappointing, for such a guest-heavy album.
Such a solid, consistent album - one of the most approachable in Billy Woods' catalog. The beats are all super good, and the few ones that do lack a bit are compensated by the cryptic rapper's lyricism.
It's pretty good, some amazing songs here, but I don't revisit most. Works better as an album listen for me. I will say the vibe of this album is hard to replicate.
It's not Mach's craziest project, but I love this extra-jazzy approach and how introspective he gets. Full of amazing songs.
Underrated project, Alchemist goes crazy on here (literally, he has a verse here). Larry June and Curren$y don't do anything crazy but I didn't even want that from them. Very smooth, very nice.
This is that classic 90s boom bap with traces of jazz you love to hear. Black Thought is an undeniable GOAT of rap, and this project is one of the many that prove why. Production is really neat, though some songs sound a bit similar to me. I don't like overrating albums just because they're from the 90s and they have huge influence, but I hear the arguments for albums like these.
Such a fun album. It's nowhere near DOOM's best, some ok tracks here, but the skits, to the concept, to the lyrics - everything here is just so goofy, while still showing great lyricism and the features do great as well.
One of the best christian hip-hop albums I've heard, but yeah the drum pattern being the same all the time was a bit annoying. Pretty decent raps though and I recognized some samples.
Mac really shows flashes of greatness in this mixtape, unfortunately it's accompanied by too many mediocre tracks.
This as a debut is wild, I like this slightly more energetic style from Isaiah so this might be my favourite project of his.
3 songs here are in contention for Benny's best ever, so that should tell you how good this is, being only 24 minutes.
I don't get the appeal, sorry. Some amazing songs like Tha Mobb and Carter II, but this is soo bloated for me.
Such a hard tape, even the less talked about songs here are fantastic. 30 Shells is definitely the stain on this otherwise skipless tracklist. Daringer in his bag and Conway's lyricism here is amazing, though I'm not huge on the choruses. All of the features are amazing and as always Skyzoo kills the song he's on, I just always have to mention him when he pops up as a feature. Amazing mixtape, the best to have come out from the Griselda label at the time of release.
Man I'm so happy this was put on streaming, I hadn't listened to this project prior to it. Features do amazing and so does Conway over some of the most trademark grimy Daringer beats.
This album revealed to me how good Roc Marciano really was. Don't get me wrong, I like Reloaded, but this one hit differently for me. It was some pretty introspective tracks here like Thugs Prayer and Shoutro which I love, coming from Marci. The beat selection here is actually insane, most of the tracks are not the usual drumless style you associate to the underground legend, but instead some hard hitting, sample-based beats. His lyricism is obviously some of the best of this century, the ... read more
Sure it's not the core Griselda sound, but Benny still kills it over some HARD beats. Features do well and the pop rap choruses may be a bit cliché, but they work for the most part. Some songs here could've been cut off to make this a really concise album but I'm still happy at the way it turned out. One Way Flight is a bit overrated but there are some underrated songs here to compensate.
