this was his best work. glad that the quintessential (and tbh, one of the only good) emo rap album is on streaming
it's solid shoegaze. it's not bad by any means but it does feel a bit more dull compared to what we given on the pushing daisies. tis a tad bit one note too. its a good listen regardless though and julie will always have my heart
i dont feel the concept of this album is that difficult to grasp. its just the things you see or experience that lead you to self isolation. Pink Floyd touches this topic in a manner that genuinely gets you to sit down and listen. Metaphorically, they portrayed this PERFECTLY. Alot of the lyrics and songwriting here is incredible and we have some of the craziest peaks in Pink Floyd’s discography here. Comfortably Numb, The brick in the wall songs, Hey you, etc. It puts you in the ... read more
i respect this alot and see the appeal in this 100%. Its a super sick vibe and it has this feel to it thats so uplifting.
The album itself is quite mixed for me. Im extremely impressed by the production, this is some peak midwest emo-esque stuff. The lyrics however were sometimes too cheesy. I appreciate the vibe but it feels like alot sometimes. It also feels a bit unpolished? I know some people like that but me personally I was not a big fan. But overall good midwest emo, This will 100% grow ... read more
the rating is only this because synth isnt much of my thing and i dont go back to much. that being said, from an objective standpoint and if i genuinely did enjoy this genre more...
jesus this thing is crafted perfectly. one track over another it just doesnt sound like just songs playing, it really is like a whole experience. the drama being played out, the funkiness and groovy beats, along with princes amazing vocals and topics and this whole album just feels more like a landmark in music. ... read more
This is insanely well made synth pop. the sound itself is simple but the incredible production and layering adds this awesome layer of complexion. This is not my go to genre but this was very enjoyable regardless. Super psychedelic and groovy
Rodeo before Rodeo. I saw the vision with this. I could 100% see what Travis was trying to do here. While theres a lot of choppiness and some songs I did not care for much, the highs of this are on par with some highs on Rodeo. Super enjoyable, super nice mixtape. Glad to see this on streaming
equivalent to walking on a empty dark rainy trail. its a bit one note, but very relaxing
alot more abrasive than Into The Night which is why a lot of people might not like it. Personally I’m a big fan of the noise and the voice isnt a bother to me. This album just sounds like pure emotion and noise and I find it kinda beautiful. But the fact that its a different sound can sway people off and thats completely fine and is also the reason fantano gave the score he did. It shouldnt matter in the end, its a rating. A number. Theres not too many review bombers/swayers on here but ... read more
in contrast to my previous linkin park review this album just sucks. they took a completely different turn and butchered it. songs dont really sound original They dont feel like linkin park songs and the only songs that in my opinion hold genuine value is One More Light and Heavy. people dont like Heavy but maybe the nostalgia just gets to me
been a resurgence in love for this recently. Nu metal as a whole is quite outdone and outdated and I’d be lying if I said this and Hybrid Theory were not a bit dated. Does it matter? Not really. This just sounds like a perfect time capsule of that raw grungy RADICAL!! 2000’s feel that alot of people nowadays absolutely love. I’m one of those people. I do not care much for nu metal or that culture anymore but this album, i come back to alot as it really does feel like THE ... read more
you know looking back at this album you really noticed kanyes real spirit and drive to create art in the form of music and to push his sound out to the world. at lot of backstory that led to this and to me that whole story just shows why Kanye was so great. this album was him as a person, the glorification of a Kanye West that was once loved. i say once cause i dont see anyone defend him anymore. that spirit and drive? nonexistent. his mental state? nonexistent. hes a walking shell of his past ... read more
how do some people this is below a 5? theres songs on here that still sound super fresh and this is still his best work by a margin. Wish he still sounded like this, do appreciate his experimentation but god this was my shit back in the day and relistening to this this is STILL great
the highs of this album (the popular songs lol) really overshadow some of the lows of this stuff. Personally im not the biggest fan of metalcore, i appreciate it here but i like this album more for its shoegaze style
80 -> 85
this album is alot more impressive than i originally made it to be
apart from being the only fitting choice for a game as legendary as silent hill 2, this standalone is an amazing album. People complain about how nothing mixes but… i think everything somehow fits everything else quite amazingly
i liked this but i wasnt as impressed with it as i was with right to children. mostly because there were a bit more weaker songs here. highs were just as high as with the previous album but lows were lower. as for the aesthetic and feeling you get from this... idk? like its nostalgic but its off.. like you walked into an alternate dimension and everyone else, besides you, is extremely aware of it
relisten 10/29/24
my opinion on this is still relatively the same although i love MHTRTC much more ... read more
