good start and end. this felt like autism music

I understand the appeal and the ability but i wouldnt really revisit 90% of these songs

i dont mind long songs, but when every song is above 5 minutes and not really sprinkled with any... pizzazz, its hard to give it too much credit

for an ambient album, the idea was good but the execution was too samey for me

watched the docu of course, i wasnt familiar with a lot of the studio versions at the time i do admit so maybe that has lead to a lower rating idk.

Good start, bum middle, extraordinary ending.
Strange fruit and Sinnerman are so great as backing songs. Honestly if it carried that level of songwriting and hauntingness for the whole album it definitely would have been a top 10 album of all time.

hugely overrated, good but not THAT good. apart from FPT and street spirit, the songs don't hold much emotional weight for me. and the production really felt stuffy at points, like it was all blasting in my face - but not in the powerful way, in the annoying and tiring way which almost made me just turn this off around blackstar.

some good songs but the low points in the album just grate your ears man

literally the most emotionally ambiguous album ever made

felt like loads of good ideas that didnt end up reaching its full potential - often songs didnt progress, flatlining until the end. no proper changes in the songs.

maybe it was made for mindless night drives...

Backbeat is the best on here, great study album tho i feel like the first half kinda lets down the great second half. feels quite bloated overall tbh

if i can listen to it while studying - and i actually do work. that means ts album is boring. most songs felt like the same blueprint, just copy and pasted with slightly different drum noises or synths. way too bloated too.
