I think this is Wu-Tang/Odd Future good ending. They are able to balance real emotion with hype, hard-hitting tracks perfectly so that they are not overly edgy or too unserious. Plus, the music just sounds good asf.
All of the deluxe tracks are extremely good, I really don't have anything to complain about.
Never thought I'd see JVB get introspective, but it's incredible. The pop/house/EDM stuff works really well. It's insane how much Joey has grown as a producer. Plus, the verses on that final song are easily the best of both of their careers.
This is solidly worse than the original. I feel like none of these were needed except PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE.
This album's vibe is so much more fun and feels less performative compared to their earlier works. The production is definitely more creative too, I just enjoy PUNK TACTICS slightly more.
I'm in utter shock at how good this album is. Literally, get rid of the final two tracks and this may be a 9/10.
Even without hearing what this is biting off, I can tell this is quite derivative. Looking past that in favor of judging the music, this is a solid debut. I really enjoy the production, but the rapping is just okay.
Their weakest project unfortunately. I just didn't find this sound to be that compelling, other than the final song.
Slightly worse than Frailty, but still a worthy opponent. This is by far JR's most fun and replayable album, as well as the one with the most aura. What holds it back from a 9/10 for me is the mostly weak writing, which is especially noticeable compared to their earlier work.
I prefer the production of Jane's previous work, but this feels like a more complete vision. I'm giving it to Frailty right now, but that could change in the future.
AND THIS IS THEIR FIRST ALBUM?????? No, but seriously, I loved every second of this, even the "cringe" stuff.
Solid album, but she can do better. This feels like a safer album from April, and I think it lacks some of the experimental charm of her earlier work. I wish it was longer as well.
I really like this. It's just so unique and creative, and in a very fun way. Despite being over 50 minutes, it really didn't drag at all, even the 7-minute song. The features and constant unpredictable switch-ups added variety and interest.
Super underrated. I love the first half, and while the second half of instrumentals isn't quite as good, they're still a vibe.
"clean!" being the only clean song is really satisfying to my brain for some reason.
I mean the end of "set u off" is the only great moment on this EP, but the entire thing is still pretty enjoyable.
I would be fine with part 1 of the intro track, it's decently funny, if it wasn't over 20% of this EP... As far as the rest of the album goes, it's just pure mid. In hard contrast to the previous JPEG album I listened to, ILDMLFY Director's Cut, this cover is terrible.
