"clean!" being the only clean song is really satisfying to my brain for some reason.
I mean the end of "set u off" is the only great moment on this EP, but the entire thing is still pretty enjoyable.
I would be fine with part 1 of the intro track, it's decently funny, if it wasn't over 20% of this EP... As far as the rest of the album goes, it's just pure mid. In hard contrast to the previous JPEG album I listened to, ILDMLFY Director's Cut, this cover is terrible.
While this is just a weaker version of the OG, I'm still glad this exists, if only just to see Peggy's complete vision for the album. Also, this is a sick cover.
The JPEGMAFIA 88 / 89 curse continues. That last five-song run is crazy tho, kind of puts the entire album in a new light.
No mixing BS, this is just a combined rating of the OG STH, the DLC Pack, and the three new songs.
I don't know if I would consider 7/10 songs filler or skips, but I don't think so. I that case, LP! (Offline) is fully skipless, and it's everything I want in a hip-hop album. It captures so many different moods, and has so much experimentation that you would be unlikely to hear anywhere else. This defines a must-hear album.
Incredibly consistent and contains several of Peggy's best songs to date.
My favorite podcast about rap music with homo erotic sexual tension between the two cohosts.
DTSMMMLF is sick, but the rest are pretty much skips. I would like STARRCADE 97 more if you could actually hear DPM's vocals, but whatever, the instrumental is cool. In general, the added songs are kind of too chill for me. I prefer more aggressive Peggy (there are exceptions ofc).
I actually liked a song or two, but this was just entirely unnecessary.
Peggy frequently out-raps Freaky and the (to be honest, not very impressive) features. That being said, Peggy's rapping is quite good. The political commentary is effective, and his flow has improved a decent amount. The production is simultaneously amateurish and extremely impressive.
The difference in quality between "The 27 Club" and the rest of the album is pretty huge. The rest of the songs are pretty good, although there are definitely more skips in the first half.
THe cHorus of "Black Folk" describes it perfectly. WHat a waste of an album. Yes, it's a good project witH some cool beats, but "just good" doesn't cut it compared to tHe rest of Q's discograpHy. THe features are misused completely, and Q's rapping mostly feels lazy and uninspired.
