The lyrical content is...well very straightforward. Regardless tho the harmonies and vocal blends are amazing, the instrumentals are simple but quite nice.
Billie singing in spanish is quite beautiful, loved how both their voices blended as well, loved the light/dark contrast with the vocals and the production.
Standout tracks: Vibez, Sweat.
This project brings a lot of mixed feelings. On a positive note, there’s a very interesting vocal delivery, very smooth and melodic, and that is the one thing carrying this album.
Now about the production...a lot of moments are quite repetitive, they could be so much more dynamic, because he’s got such a nice voice and register range in here it’s a shame the songs didn’t even evolve according to that.
It almost feels like this is an ... read more
Quite catchy, not too risky on production but it's still a vibe - it could be longer but that's okay
I'm not gonna lie I wasn't very excited after Let Me Love You Like a Woman (the song isn't bad it just didn't grab me) but this....this makes me excited for the album, specially because it is the title track. There is a dark vibe all over the song, pairing with the safer and simple production and approach - but this isn't bland at all, it's haunting and beautifully melodic and it hits like a slow train
This is quite a bomb of a single, wow. The raw emotion of the vocals, the storytelling, the overall simple production but with a little bit of added extras in specific moments - and also the layering and sound transitions that grab you and grow on you as you're listening to the song...she has potential, this is awesome.
Standout tracks: willow, gold rush, tolerate it, happiness, ivy, long story short, marjorie, evermore.
From a new summer perspective to a winter wonder escape - what a year for Taylor. This creates a solid statement showing that this sound suits her beautifully. Gazing on detailed, storytelling and raw lyrics, to tight and sharp production, beautiful transitions and blends thought-out the tracks - progression and artistic madness (in the best way) really showed up in here, and it’s very ... read more
Standout tracks: Wonder, Call My Friends, Monster.
The intro and wonder (the track) actually set up an interesting mood for the whole album, but it falls short quickly. Shawn’s vocal skills are quite pleasant from start to finish, we are able to see some growth, some vocal agility and also some interesting plays of combining it with the instrumentals. The contrast from heavy to soft and then harsh and sweet is also interesting here.
Being that said, the whole thing feels so bland. A lot ... read more
Standout tracks: WTF Do I Know, Plastic Hearts, Gimme What I Want, Midnight Sky, Golden G String.
From start to finish we are blessed with spectacular vocals, amazing transitions, strong blends and strong instrumentals, the most cohesive project delivered by Miley to date. Even tho some moments seem calculated, in the sake of sticking to the project’s theme, the creativity here is noticeable, the growth is visible, and this mature approach suits her like a glove.
We can consider that ... read more
Standout tracks: la luna enamorada, aquí yo mando, vaya com dios, telepatía, no eres tu (soy yo), te pongo mal (prendelo).
This is quite pleasant and chill from start to finish. The production is quite magical and surprising at times, pairing with amazing vocal and harmonies, also with interesting layering and sound transitions.
Ultimately this is what can be seen as a “moody” album as is not as catchy because of sound similarities or groundbreaking as some other ... read more
Standout tracks: Miss A Thing, Supernova, Say Something, Last Chance, Where Does The DJ Go?, Unstoppable, Till You Love Somebody.
What a ride here, this album sounds so nostalgic, but in a good way: the instrumentals with the simple vocal layering and arrangements are quite amusing. Quite interesting transitions, sound combinations and track compositions, the project gives enough diversity to keep you hooked up while being super cohesive with the theme it wants to deliver.
The project would ... read more
Standout tracks: breakup song, sweet melody, confetti, gloves up, rendezvous, if you want my love, breathe.
It sounds incredibly cohesive, transitions are very interesting at times, the voice combinations are amazing, harmonizing and building ups are clever almost every time they appear, the blend of sounds we used to listen to before with sounds more current today is well thought – it’s an album to dance your life to almost, and that’s something we all need now.
Maybe it ... read more
Standout tracks: diamonds, dance (‘til you love someone else), dancing with a stranger, how do you sleep, to die for, fire on fire.
The opening with an acapella opening this is such a mood setting to the project, which makes it super promising, and in a way, it doesn’t disappoint at all.
Vocals are super clear and there’s a huge emotional feeling tied here; the lyrics are amazing at driving you into the tracks all of its meanings. The blends and sound choices are somewhat ... read more
Standout tracks: shut up, off the table, safety net, positions, pov.
The vocal delivery is amazing as expected at this point, but the instrumental fades too much? The blends are interesting but sometimes don’t get spiced up enough and that makes the tracks a little bit of a repetition – it sounds like the same we already experienced with her, which isn’t a bad thing but it isn’t top notch either.
Most of the tracks start promising, and although they don’t get to ... read more
Standout tracks: Test Me, Numbers, Field Trip.
What an artistic ride, Melanie is amazing for the production she delivers, the blends and attention to the detail that ties the sound with the lyrics of a song.
Being that said, the EP feels maybe more of a ride to what might come next, artistically-wise. A lot of structures here don’t seem to work, it’s almost as if a song is incredibly good or incredibly bad.
However it’s super interesting to see what ideas can be pursued ... read more
Standout tracks: Bet You Wanna, Lovesick Girls, Love To Hate Me, You Never Know.
This project is actually and purely fun. It’s not ground-breaking, but ultimately is a nice pop project.
It’s filled with interesting blends, somewhat cohesive transitions and sound experimentations: it’s clear to see the inspiration that makes the tracks sonically but there’s also multiple attempts of incorporating personality to that familiar sound.
The vocal delivery and rap ... read more
Standout tracks: Kings & Queens, Naked, Born to the Night, Torn, Belladonna, Salt.
It’s actually quite a fun project! It’s intriguing even tho it’s nothing out of the box, the catchy tunes definitely grab you and make you dance a couple of times.
Nicely done blends and sound transitions, it’s technically well executed and that makes the tracks actually spark, it could have just way more artistry so they could stand out – being great in arrangements ... read more
Standout tracks: Emancipense, J'veux un chien, Vue d'en face, Peine de mort, Un million.
Interesting production, super dance pop vibes coming here. It’s very impactful yet soft, the transitions are not only smooth but help progressing the sound story of the tracks that’s impressive.
Quite simple in terms of element composition but it’s all done very purposefully, which makes it work: the vocal layering doesn’t overpower the whole composition, but it’s not ... read more
Standout tracks: Suffer, Slave To Your Love, Redemption, Darkest Hour.
The sound transitions are super interesting, quite dark but also intriguing because at the same time they are super unexpected, to the point it might be too much sometimes.
It’s a very mixed feeling type of project, where it seems quite cohesive then it starts getting weird and out of place, but at the same time is not all the way experimental and the songs remain similar in a lot of aspects – either they try ... read more
I'm giving a zero because he deserves zero support, I won't listen to it, I don't feel the need to listen to it, and he shouldn't be getting any type of attention or support. Don't listen to his music until he shows signs of change.
