Here Are The Sonics feels like the spark that lit the fuse for Punk Rock. The Sonics injected the traditional Rock & Roll of the time with much more raw energy and production. Having those distorted, fuzzy guitars, fast-paced drumming, and unrestrained, almost feral like screaming in most tracks laid the groundwork for what would become punk’s defining sound. Their influence echoes through later proto-punk icons like The Stooges and MC5, and ultimately through the entire punk movement ... read more

This album is much better than I thought.
Knowing the history of the band, and the state they were in during the making of this album, I was honestly afraid. Well, I'm pleasantly surprised from this album. It is much better than their third album because I don't think they tried too hard in replicating their sound from Is This It. This leans much more onto that Indie Rock sound rather than Garage Rock, and even though it's not as good as their first two ... read more
This sounds like if some guy who was high on some shit walked in a booth and started spitting random shit.
Niontay's album, Fada<3of$, is better than his previous records, objectively. It's much more consistent, it knows its identity much more, it's much more cohesive, but with that said, it doesn't reach the highs he reached in his previous records. To contrast this though, it doesn't have any downright ass tracks... except like maybe one. I did not like ... read more
This is what berets and coats on a hotel balcony probably sound like.
Laufey is honestly one of the better artists this 2020s in terms of indie pop, since she loves to incorporate elements of jazz into her tracks more than others. She knows how to make a song sound like a disney song. This EP sounds so cozy. I mean, they have bluebird sounds at a certain point. The way this album sounds is unlike its contemporaries. She was really doing something here. I really like it. Great album.

Earl Sweatshirt is happy now.
This album is basically Earl's victory lap. He is happier than ever. I mean, you can hear it in gsw vs sac. He sounds like he is rapping with a smile on his face and a pep in his step. This is probably his best album after Some Rap Songs. It's so distinctively Earl. I liked this much more than Voir Dire. It sounds much more unique, much less clean production, and reminds me of J Dilla or Madlib type of production. Earl is a family man now. I mean, just ... read more
Earl Sweatshirt and paired with The Alchemist sounds like a matchmade in heaven. Arguably the best producer in hiphop right now together with one of the greatest lyricist in rap? This couldn't be anything but good. And after listening to it, it is exactly that. It's a pretty good album. With that said, I feel like it could have been more. This is a pretty good album, but there isn't much standout here. If we are comparing this to his previous albums, there's a distinct lack ... read more
Crueger is pretty underrated compared to his other works, and I can see how — cc, sayso, and his latest having much more praise — but with that said, I think this is still pretty good. It's much less consistent and unique compared to cc since tracks like Right Now seems to sound unfinished in an otherwise messy album, but I don't think it's a good reason to look over this project for. There are some hardhitting tracks here like Busan and Gah Damn, and there are some ... read more

This mixtape hard.
Underground Trap/Rage Rapper Che released his mixtape, "closed captions" on July 21, 2023 — and oh my god bro. This shit is hard as fuck. As i continue to listen to his shit, he leans more and more onto the rage type of sound. Although rage tends to sound samey, this one still manages to stand out since the synths and his vocals are so distinct. Someone give Che his flowers because he's a definite standout in the rage genre.
The way this mixtape ... read more
~~~ The LUV Experience #3 ~~~
After a long break from Uzi, I have decided to actually listen to his next mixtape. I relistened to the vs. The World tape to ready myself with the Uzi sound, and after listening to this, well....
The Perfect LUV Tape is Uzi's 4th mixtape, and it's a pretty good Uzi mixtape. Compared to his last tape, this wasn't as good, nor consistent. This was fun though. I love the Carti and Pluto future here. They delivered here pretty well. Can't really ... read more
PIMP-PIMP.... HOORAY.
Kendrick was the guy that got me into hip-hop. I listened to all his studio albums, and I liked all of them alot. I'm a big KDot glazer, but I never really listened to untitled unmastered. I mean, it's just there in-between TPAB and DAMN. but a part of me just thought about listening to it after I'm done with all his albums. Fast forward to GNX, I forgot about that and I moved onto other artists and music. One day, I randomly heard untitled 08 on shuffle ... read more
This is Daniel Caesar's most heavenly album. The production is intimate, warm, and feel-good. I mean, to be honest, this might be one of the best Christian albums I've heard. His voice is just so good here. Compared to NEVER ENOUGH, this feels much happier and has much more live-sounding instrumentation. There was some elements of rock here too. Call on Me having that distorted guitar. And my goodness, Baby Blue and Moon are just so beautiful. Daniel Caesar really did something ... read more
This is better than BALLADS 1, that's for sure. The production is cleaner and fuller, and this is much more consistent and interesting when moving from track to track. The first half of this album was consistently good — in my opinion. Comparing it to BALLADS 1, it's much more catchy, moody, and have some consistency. It starts to fall off around after NITROUS, having a slurry of samey tracks again.
yes the OG version and the quest makes this album so much better. They should've been in the original cut. The sample at the beginning is HEAVENLY.
I regret taking a break from Mac's music 4 months ago.
The last review I had for anything that Mac Miller made was around 4 months before this review, back when my reviews were short and less thoughtful. I was honestly tired of the frat rap type of sound he was doing, and boy oh boy I should've continued listening. Watching Movies with the Sound Off is Mac's turning point. There were alot of songs in Macadelic that kinda pointed to this change in direction. Compared to his older ... read more
I'm a big Tame Impala fan. If you saw my page, it's pretty evident since Lonerism is one of my favorite albums. Ever since I listened to Currents a few years ago, I got absolutely hooked into their music. I listened to all their albums, and I have not hated a single one. Tame Impala's music was consistently good. I could never really hate any of the albums. Even my least favorite album at that time, The Slow Rush, was still pretty good. ... read more
THIS IS CULTURALLY INAPPROPRIATE.
What a generational comeback album. In several years from now, this album will definitely be regarded as a classic. The same status that albums from the 90s and early 2000s gets. Malice disappearing for basically 15 years, came back and POPPED OFF. And this entire album being produced by Pharrell? Boy that's a sign ts would have been fire.
Compared to other hiphop album, the vocals and production sounds so clear, and fuck it sounds expensive. This is ... read more
Che is out here with his debut EP, and honestly, it's nothing crazy. Che showcases some unique rage-like production, which I enjoy alot. Compared to his singles prior, it sounds much less unique though. But overall, there's nothing really crazy here yet.
BALLADS 1 is alright. This is his EP but longer and has higher highs. The lofi production is decent and gives off that nice late night vibe. In all honesty though, most of the songs are somewhat samey, both in lyrical content and production. But hey, Joji never made this in hopes to make groundbreaking music really. But hey, this was a nice little listen.
SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK is the obvious highlight here. The vocals are raw, the production is immaculate, and it's catchy as hell. ... read more
