I was aware and loved this song since when I was 11 and I didn't even know anything about death grips.

Joey Valence and Brae really made good use out of their RCA signing. They sound much more diverse and vibrant, while still being cohesive. Additional points for not being as much of a beastie boys ripoff this time.
