A heartwarming and charismatic performance made incredibly melancholic by Mac's passing just a month later. For all the things that went wrong throughout his life music seemed to be the one place where he could just enjoy and express himself. Nowhere is that more apparent than in this performance.
It's interesting being alive for an career like Kendrick Lamar. Not only is he one of the biggest artists in the world, but he also has the quality to justify his popularity. He managed to garner the most hype for any album this year(maybe besides brat) without any marketing. "GNX" serves to further this idea. On this album Kendrick's goal seems to be on cementing his legacy as one of the goats of rap while also providing some of the biggest bangers of his career.
