This album will probably go down in history as one of the most influential alternative rock albums.

Without Daydream Nation, and Sonic Youth in general, we probably wouldn’t know alt/indie rock like we know it today. Sure, this record is a little messy, but it really added a memorable and iconic sound. My only complaint is how some of the songs drag out for too long, but even then I can’t really critique. WHAT KIND OF MOUSE MADE THIS????

I’d call this an essential 2000s alternative/indie album. Some MM fans claim this album is too “commercial,” but even if it is signed with a major label, I still love the music contained. 8.5/10 for me, and I will be listening to this again!

Hmmmm this one is weird

The first four songs are nearly perfect, but the last four are just OK. I certainly enjoy Eno’s production on this though. I just wish this album was more consistent.

Dare I say it’s their best album to date?

Foster the People dropping a new album is not what I expected this year. It would be like your favorite TV series ending, only to release another season seven years later. That’s kind of what I felt back in May this year, when they released this album’s main single, Lost in Space.

As for the music on this album, you can clearly see influence from Discovery-era Daft Punk, Talking Heads, and 70s disco. The production on here is ... read more
