I don't think I have ever listened to an album that better describes my past struggles with drug addiction than Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown.
Minus five billion points for Paradise. I've never listened to such a preachy and empty song. It's the same problem with modern Ministry, if you want to shoot for political and societal issues, try to be a little introspective and original. The sampling is awful and K.M.F. is the band's worst track. I write this out of love and respect for all of the bands' work. Sascha K and his revolving-door entourage have put out some fantastic work, but this is NOT it.
Really well-rounded and psychotic listen. This was the heigh of Ministry's creative zenith and it really shows from start to finish.
Absolutely phenomenal record with excellent ideas and near-perfect execution, except when it doesn't. The album is very front-loaded and the last three tracks don't hit the spot for me. "Test" is a travesty, which is a shame because Bill Rieflin's production is amazing, but the momentum is killed by the awful rapper. His bars are so ass that it made me laugh my ass off when I heard it.
This album inspired me to begin my music creation journey so it will always be one of my favorites.
Charming but incredibly shitty experimental hip-hop album album. Same with the rest of the discography I've listened to.
Favorites: On Earth, Gone Guru, Devil's Down & Out, Killer Moves
Least Favorite: Everything else, oh my fucking GOD
Child rapist yells the hard R. It gets points because I liked it as an edgy teenager and it gives me nostalgia, but good God is it a hard listen.
This album is whatever the opposite of an artistic achievement is. It’s what scene music sounds like to people who hate scene music, and a case study in what not to make as an artist.
Nah, but seriously, this has no redeeming values, period. The instrumentals are all in 4:4, many share the same melody, and those melodies are garbage. Most tracks are unmixed and made with FL Studio default tools. The lyrics are especially atrocious, especially in the context of who Onision is and what he ... read more
I personally fuck with this album heavy, but I understand why others might not like it so much. Throne of Agony and Anything are masterpieces, though.
It has some good moments but the production sounds unsatisfying and Leeb's vocals are not for me.
I'm very proud and lucky to be growing up in a time where Raymond Watts got his life together and is churning out his best art ever. It includes many great contributions from En Esch, Steve White, and others. The sound is nice and crisp and contains a satisfying blend of gothic, orchestral soundscapes with fat industrial beats. This is easily one of my favorite albums off all time.
Favorite Track: "Obliteration Liberation"
Least favorite: "The Judas Chair"
