the first janet album i didnt absolutely love, but trust a try and someone to call my lover are so so so addicting! the whole album just feels a bit too mellowed out at times, but still pretty solid!
first four tracks are amazing, but the rest of it is just a bit generic and unremarkable.
fav: burning temptation, doctrine of love
i am so so ready for debut tv, her matured vocals with the country-pop production she's known for pre-1989, it just feels right!
some tracks really weigh it down (bitch ball out and polo) but this is a really solid album by her finally! she's definitely found a sound for her that fits and the production is sooo satisfying on her!
couldve been solid if her vocals weren't so drowned out by the instrumental, her voice is so gorgeous, but i can't understand a word she's saying askjdhk
tried really hard to hear her out here, but despite a clear improvement from the previous album, her singing technique will always be such a turn off for me. say my name and my regards is sooo good though, kind of saved it for me!
really beautiful, not really what i expected from her based on her most popular songs, so this is a pleasant surprise!
if the album sticks to this type of production i think aoty might just be locked for her! the bridge and outro is pure ecstasy!! i was a bit disappointed with drop dead, but she really put out all the stops with this one i'm so impressed!
this is your sign to do a dance/ house-adjacent album sabrina, this is absolutely spectacular!
a very painfully 80s album, the first two tracks are godly but the rest are a little underwhelming compared to it.
a guilty pleasure of mine is red velvets albums, i feel like theyre one of the few kpop artists who truly defined kpop for me, and how amazing it can actually be when done right! this album is their most acclaimed for a reason! every song has godly production with vocals to match it, and the cohesion in the tracks is sooo unlike most kpop albums i see!
its an album for teenagers made by a teenager so nothing too interesting to note. sounds too much like the 2010s, in a bad way.
good! but feels more like an album track that you'd appreciate every once in a while, not a lead single. production is quite charming though! feels like it'd be somewhere in the realm of The Cure's Disintegration!
it takes talent to mix crude humor with clever lyricism, and she for sure does it well in this album! sometimes it does push it a little too much with its silliness but it is great nevertheless!
fav: Grilling..., Cruella, Aura
worst: Connect 4
While the singles are obviously the highlight of this album, some of the album tracks here are a spectacle in and of itself! ST. LOSER, YES GODDD, and I'M ACTUALLY KINDA FAMOUS have such an infectious, headbopping sound to it that can't be ignored! The rest, while still good, serve merely as the foundation and the solidness of this album as a whole. Overall, a very gagworthy album, my waist is shrinking!
fav: CRANK, BEAT UP CHANELS, $T. LOSER, YES GODDD
