its bizarre how recent this album is to me because i feel like this album has been around for so long, a timeless masterpiece with genuinely inventive and groundbreaking production.
is this what hazbin hotel fans listen to in their free time?
no but like if he actually made a serious album it'd probably be at least decent, he has the voice for it, maybe get a ghostwriter or two though...
terribly uninspired and made specifically for radio. even for someone known for pandering to radio audience, this feels just blatantly generic and made to passively listen and think nothing of it.
most of the new tracks dont really add much value for me honestly
idk abt yall but something definitely happened to me listening to lightning
favs: instead of here, lightning, i'll change for you, that white cat
if she took the time to really develop and let the song sit instead of moving from one track to another, this would be a fantastic record. as it is, it is a pleasant, but rushed listening experience
i wish it had more of that neoclassical darkwave sound like in house it was a really interesting venture that i dont think she quite fully explored to its potential, but otherwise a solid album with a great mix of classical and modern elements meshing really well. it really stands out amongst her discography but i cant quite tell if thats a good thing or not yet.
good for what it is, dtmf title track probably the only song i'll actively come back to, but aside from that this is a great album with a very fun sound that would go hard at parties! aoty mostly deserved!
the rest of the album is a bit disappointing compared to andrew in drag, not as bad as some people rating this,, but its just very disjointed and none of it really meshes well with each other. at one point, it felt really gratingly long despite only being 34 minutes
i refuse to believe ms pac man is a real song, so i will not let it affect my rating
pretty good electronic music tho! a really ambitious album that delivers in some parts, overally a very smashing record!
fav: my type, a bug's life, dead
probably shouldnt have listened to this so early in the morning now im bawling and i have exams in 3 hours, this album really took the wind out of my breath.
highlights: forest fire, soria moria
halfway through disc 2 it clicked for me, god will is such a good songwriter
first disc is definitely more of a consistently solid tracklist than the second but it still has a few good songs here and there like Ziggomatic and Meltphase!
overall it can get a bit winded at times but it captured my attention most of the time!
fav: Mt St Michel, Cock/ver10, Ziggomatic 17
