the wolf of velvet fortune is really the only song worth relistening to. the rest of the tracks are quite forgettable, and the production ends up a bit off putting at times.
banging production as always, it falls off a bit in the second half but it is still an incredibly thrash worthy record!
fav tracks: WILL U STILL U, LIKED U BETTER, DOUBT, GRAVEYARD SONG, 3 SUMMERS
this is the easiest 10 i have ever given an album, the vocals are absolutely breathtaking and the production is so rich and earthy! i loved almost every track on my first listen, this is so sublime!
fav: sublime, matter, beautiful things, there was a room
if i'm going to be honest, i had low expectations for this album but some of these tracks are really nice actually. when i did my first listen to this, i barely liked some of these, but it's starting to grow on me! Don't get me wrong though it's a very mixed bag of an album, some songs feel really generic and uninspired, but tracks like Never Getting Laid, House Tour, and When Did You Get Hot? are songs that i'd love to see her take her future music in that direction. ... read more
this album was very special to me as it helped me to stay around for a little longer, which is ironic as this is a pretty depressing album. i really hate how he tarnished his reputation and in turn this album to me as i thought it was an actually solid album with crushing songwriting.
i dont usually listen to opm but wow are these songs so catchy and well-produced, i love his vocals here!
fav tracks: Lumisan, Gabi
very groovy! a lot of really interesting production details that really works in their favor, they definitely know how to execute their artistic vision to their fullest! the first four tracks is honestly a generational track run, i wish the second half lived up to it though.
this album sounds exactly like how the cover looks and i mean that in the best way possible!
fav tracks: A&E, Clowns
wish this was a little longer, great lofi vibe though, definitely a grower album!
fav tracks: gentlewoman, whatevering, hell
the lyrics are so plain, the vocals are downright annoying at times, at least the title is funny i guess. its so disappointing because i actually liked back to friends and i wish the album tracks sounded more like it. the last two tracks were kinda good though!
mitski and dessner on the same album omg october can't come soon enough
quality instrumentation but its not something that i would listen to regularly honestly.
this is so much more jazzy than i expected, i love the little details in some of the songs that feel so retro disney-esque and the production on some of these, especially sabotage! her vocals are as stunning as always, and the lyrics are so yearnable (is that a word?) it does fall apart kinda in the second half and i do wish that some of the songs had a bit more of a resolve to them but nonetheless a very stunning album!
fav tracks: sabotage, a cautionary tale
a very funky and groovy album with its rhythms on point! i do wish some of the tracks on here were on spotify because i really liked the closing track.
fav tracks: Africa Brasil, Xica Da Silva
despite the .. interesting vocals, some of these songs actually have potential with its production!
fav track: fight against your fleshy lust
